I've tried that a couple times, but I imagine you are correct. I just can't seem to reset it.

last thing to try then is set it on charge for a few hours (leave it overnight is best) and see if that does it. sometimes they just get screwy. also, if the battery is more than about 3 years old, it probably wont hold much charge. 3-5 years tends to be the "shelf life" for laptop batteries.

It's probably 3 years old. I've tried charging it over night and that didn't do it either. I'm almost tired of messing with it. I'll just pick up a new battery soon.

i have killed a couple of lipo batteries by leaving them in the laptop for a few months without ever powering it up. the very slow draw from the laptop killed them. unfortunatly once they have been discharged that far, there is no bringing them back.

I toyed with the idea of replacing the cells. but the packs i have needed to be destroyed in order to get access to the cells. so it wasnt worth it for me.

my stock lipo battery for my laptop was 2100mah. but i was able to get some brand new 4900mah lipo's on ebay for about $45 each.

I was actually able to get my battery case opened relatively easily. That's the only good thing I have to say about it though.
