What if it had a USB port so you could update the firmware from time to time? That way, the radio wouldn't become obsolete next year. Imagine, when the 11ms standard makes way for the 7ms standard, all you do is download some new firmware and update your radio. Now that would be a good idea.

Great idea but I don't think that would be good for new radio sales. Highly unlikely.

I doubt it will be 11ms because it has 11 channels. The 9303/9503 isn't simply because it has more than 7 channels.

Pretty sure the Futaba 12 and 14 radios can update from a PC/Laptop. I haven't even tried to do mine but it makes perfect sense to me these days to allow for that, otherwise you end up with a dated brick at some point or another, regardless of who makes the product.

why can't teh 11x have a 7ms update rate. Futaba and Airtroncis do on their 10ch radios. Ok, well Futaba does on ch 1-6, but really after that I don't care. I just want it on the ccpm and maybe the gear/throttle and aux 1-2

1 minus for digital throttle trim. I much prefer the analog.

Digital trim WITH throttle cut switch works fine. (I had a Futaba 9C)
Analog trim works fine. (I have a 9303)
Digital trim without throttle cut is a pain. (I had a DX7)

My first choice is digital trim WITH throttle cut but I can live just fine with analog trim. I had to implement a throttle cut switch to get along happily with the DX7 although the throttle recovery worked OK most of the time.

Latency - Could you tell the difference between 7ms and 11ms and 22ms in flight without electronic test equipment on the bench? I see a lot of people quoting these figures as a must have, forget about it. The must haves are, Quality, Reliability, Ease of Use and Excellent support. I have used JR since I started some 30 years ago and it's always stood for those core elements.

As for Digital Trim / Analogue Trim on the throttle, I would always vote for analogue as it trims and cuts, it's very easily and quickly adjustable and it also offers an immediate indication as to trim level both visually and to the touch.

Firmware Updates are possible on the 11 via a memory card.

analog trim is so 80's. and horrible.

how could you not like dig trim like Fubaba's? oh it remembers every aircraft where it needs to be for idle, and oh lookey there, a throttle kill switch. oh geez thats handy and um, safe.

say what you want, but analog is totally senseless. throttle cut is just way too handy, and when things go bad, its a handy safety switch to have.

save your flames, yeah I know you can program in a throttle kill.

point is it can be built in from factory.

You can have the best of both worlds, analogue trim with good model setup (both mechanical and radio). The idle setting can be made the same on each model and cut will be the same on all your models to.

or how bout no beeping except once when you set it up and run it for the first time, then leave it. no sliding or beeping because you use throttle kill switch to shut it down. oh, and next time you simply turn it on and go. and you go from one bird to another and its all the same, turn on and go.

when done, hit throttle kill toggle switch. it doesnt get easier than that boys.

problem is, JR has had a good dig trim on throttle with a dedicated throttle kill switch like team orange.

I like JR stuff, but Futaba has JR on that feature hands down.
