Idiot of the day award goes to??!!
This guy.

Got the new X3 out for a maiden today.
CC Edge Programmed...check
Cyclic servos travel and direction...check
Rudder servo travel and direction...check
Rudder comp...check
Piro Comp...check
Battery charged...check
Everything tight and fastened down...check.

Spool up going well...................

Good thing I decided to put on break away servo arms. Since some dumba$$ didn't check cyclic directional comp. Throw and travel was right from the radio, but had both the elevator and aileron compensation backward. Tipped over nice and hard on the blacktop when the skids got light.

Breakway arms did the trick though. Two arms broken and blade tips beat to hell. But slapped on new servo arms, fixed the comp direction in the Spirit, and had a successful maiden (The second time!).

Remember...runways are for models and wings are for fairies.

First crash on a new heli is always the worst. Best you got it out of the way early.

just order a new servo to get the 500 going, now I have to start replacing fuel lines and fire up a nitro to see if that gets me going for the year

I still have it. There may be a family of mice or rats living in the box.
