It got cold in the winter there it would get to 35 or so in the winter in Southern California , you could add 100 gadgets to this thing for some time

Well all you electric flyer out there there is hope for you yet. Just put this little gadget on your heli and you to can have a smoke trail just like the big boys with nitro, and it does not cost you a battery every time you fly.

Thats funny, I was discussing such a thing with someone at the field this summer. Thought about trying to design one myself, but the power for the heating element seemed a waste.

Plus at that price, if I want to see smoke that bad, I just wait for one of the nitro guys to pile it in!

Remember...runways are for models and wings are for fairies.

Jon, Jon, those electrics pile it in just fine, especially when the lipo goes up in flames! LOL! So I guess we won't see one of those smoke generators on your machine then?
Can't believe the cost of them!

I thought you were building a octoquad? 6 motors seems plenty to me though.

No 3s is what i am using i wanted to build it so i could run the batteries i already have , it should only pull about 12 amps but i wont know that for a while yet
sonny the reason i was gonna build an octo was to carry a camera i will never own so i changed my mind midstream and luckily as i have 2 speed controls that dont work, i will be buying different speedos that are specific for the application and that are plug and play of course they cost more but i sure as hell dont want a failure in the air.

ok cool thought more motors run and more volts drops under load as flight time reduced of more cells like 4s help run time than 3s and yeah that might help of one of the escs fails then the rest still can fly and not loss of flight

Failures in the air would NOT be a good thing! Especially out of sight!

voltage depends on motor KV I opted for 800 kv and 3s I can go as high as 4 s if needed but I dont think I will need too

I can have two motors fail in flight as long as they dont start on fire it would return to home at least thats the theory
