CNN had a little info on that crash, they said it was toy helicopter . Maybe when they quit calling them toys they will respect the danger they can present. Sad day for the Brooklyn club for sure. The news wasn't sure if it was the pilot or a bystander. Anyone know?

Pilot, he flew into himself trying to save it from crashing, by the looks of the picture it was a 600 or 700 size electric.

Hey guys. How is everything going up north??? Hope your all still flying. I am sure it won't be long and it is going to start cooling off. At least up there. Heck down here they have Heli funflies in November. Hopefully in the next week they will deliver all of our stuff and I can get going on getting the 700 fixed. And last night I pulled the trigger on a new Gaui X5 premium edition that comes with the Gaui VBar (Mikado mini VBar). So as soon as I get all my tools and stuff I will get that together.

Carpe Diem!!!

That is one thing I have most of the time made a point about. Not even fire up the heli to even hover it unless someone else is there. I have gone out to the field a few times and was the only one there and packed up and just left after a few minutes. I would rather still be here to enjoy it rather than try and enjoy just one flight.

Carpe Diem!!!

Yeah, his dad was with him! Horrible! His dad will never get that image out of his mind. Obviously they were very close! Having lost 2 daughters myself, I can feel for him, what he must be going through, along with his family, friends and flying buddies. When you look at all the out pour of love and prayers going out for his family, you can see how the entire heli community is a close knit group! One loss is a tragedy for all of us.

I already knew that he wasnt flying alone John, but in a remote area like us it would be very bad if there wasnt someone else there to call for help,I heard that the father was not there like they had first said but of course they report it as they want it to be.

Oh, the father was not there? I guess that would be better for him! I would be hard to get that image out of your mind! Still, I feel awful for all those who knew him.

Yeah, that's why we are fairly lucky we have trees for you guys to hide behind when I fly! But yeah seriously! That's why we are kind of blessed that we use RR to coordinate when we go out to fly! This accident sure hit all of us pretty hard!

Other articles that i just read say the father was there and showed pictures of the blades and a sheet laying over the ground , this is another warning for the rest of us to be safe.

So is anyone going out today? I'm charging batteries now will be leaving in about 45 minutes.

I'm fairly confident that changing the bearings in the protos tail is going to fix my issues considering that one of the bearings came out in four pieces. Outer race, inner race and the two cage halves, no balls.
