So the wife now finally feels like she is controlling her MCPX. She is just spooling it up and enjoying it with it's skids on the ground. I was so glad to hear the happiness in her voice. I now feel like she is in the hobby with me. Now I know why she has been struggling. I am glad she has kept trying and now has an opportunity to learn.

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

I got my parts for the E5 ordered. I doubt I will have them by Saturday. Anyone planning on flying on Monday at all?

Nope the mcpx didn't show yet, i just didn't feel good after the dentist! Jay if you ordered from experience and chose fed ex you will have parts the next day, but you have to order before noon in most cases or call the order in before the fed ex guy shows up there. I have ordered at 3 before and missed the boat!

Same old jackass maneuver. Got a little out of position kind of low to the ground so I casually reach for captain rescue switch just to be lazy and hit TH instead. Of course the ESC wouldn't spool it up fast enough so it basically fell out of the sky from about 15' feet up. The only good thing of course it was perfectly level when it hit because I did hit CR after I turned throttle hold off. Broke the landing struts and tail fin only.

The time has come to rearrange the switches in the radio.

I encountered the same issue Jay when I went from the dx7 to the dx8. The throttle hold switch was in a different location on the radio. But so far it has only taken 2 crashes to get me to put my finger on the back switch! If all else fails, I have an extra pair of landing struts if you need them for Saturday. Tail fin, out of luck on that. At least I think the landing struts are the same as for the N5c.

That's because spectrum sucks, every radio futaba makes the hold switch is in the same place on all models, spectrum hasn't figured out how to standardize yet, because they don't care about you crashing and hurting your equipment or people

If one of the companies really had the crap together they would make the switches plug and play and let the user configure them how they want. They already have the software to let you assign switch functions where ever. It wouldn't take that much work to have a socket setup instead of soldering the switches in.

Where do you want it to be Jay ? You dont hqve to move the switch you can mix it wherever you want, the spectrum lover doesnt know about mixing so he thinks you need to physically move it

Have you thought about putting it on the back slider? Close enough to keep a finger on but different enough not to mess with the, oh crap it's going in TH reflex.

Ideally bailout needs to be on the momentary switch (trainer). As you know this is the lower right switch on the 8fg. The TH switch is the three way switch directly above it. I fly with my middle finger resting on the bottom of the TH switch so it is just natural reaction for me to activate that switch. My fingers are too short for me to rest it under the trainer switch. That is why I want to physically move the trainer switch to the top position. I have contemplated just putting the bailout on the TH switch. The heli will just continue to climb until I flip it back off. That would be better than nothing. I set the climb out rate pretty slow.
