At least Gregg knows why is heli went in last night , he did some testing and found his perfect regulator to be not so perfect under a load ! Voltage dropped under a load and causes a lockout !!

Not with stock align servos you aren't. You can't run a straight LiPo without stepping it down.

You could do it with a LiFE battery direct, runs the servos a bit on the high side at 6.6V, but many are doing it without problems as long as the Futaba electronics don't care about running at that voltage. I forgot you nitro guys are afraid of electronics.

Jon, I've been doing it for the last 3 years as well! They are rated at 6 volts, I figure with all the tiny wires, that's a voltage drop right there, but I'm no engineer.

More like Sonny needs to replace them from crash damage long before they go bad from over voltage.

Is this the guy with the 700 nitro. I think he has been trouble shooting the entire electronic system in that bird. It keeps giving me new ideas of what to watch out for. I wish I could get mine to fail under load but I still can't spot what failed for sure. I will have to attribute it to a loose connection, hot glue all the connectors in and hope that was it.

Anyone need anything smaller? I am thinking of getting a TX for the wife this weekend and some more EC5s and misc connectors.

My stuff has been on the boat for 2 weeks now. Thanks for asking.

Made an order from the USA warehouse yesterday as well.

Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

I feel really bad for Gregg, poor guy has been chasing problems for a whole year with that heli! At least maybe now, he finally has it sorted out, but still, its expensive! It must have cost him the cost of the kit at least to sort it out. Or was that the first time it went in?

Just got 2 gens ace 7.4v 3500 mAh batteries from Canada, I'm surprised at how small they are! Thinner than the 2100's i have.
