Should have just tried the EP Buddy glaciers that are 30C. A bit cheaper, but would have had them in two days max. Plus from what I've been able to tell they come from the same place at the Gens Aces.

I think I'm going to pickup two of the 5300s to try in the 700 this spring, or at least the 550.

I'm going to try and make contact with the guy in Hastings that sells the VP Power Master nitro fuel to see what kind of deal we can get. Who is interested and how many cases? It would be good have a general idea of how many cases everyone wants so we can work the best deal. Keep in mind that this fuel comes 6 gallons to the case. The list price on their website is $280/case (ouch). They're going to have to do a lot better than that to beat Wildcat. I see they are still selling the Wildcat for $76/case at Toledo. Unfortunately I am not going to able to get there this year as I think I will be traveling for work.

2 cases how do you expect to get good pricing on 2 cases ?
When I talked to him before he wanted a skid for a minimum buy so unless something has changed I don't think we will make the minimum order.

I just got off the phone with Glen and as I figured he really can't quote us a price without knowing how much fuel we want. He did mention that if there was enough demand he would look at "sponsering" the club. What ever that means.

Steve, is it possible to get the word out to the plankers about this? Since they outnumber us like 5 to 1 it would be the best way to get our numbers up.

I can try but the average planker at the field burns a gallon maybe 2 all year, and they run 15% .can we mix ?
Tell him that we need 10 cases based on what these guys want (Brian and Sonny) your gonna be hard pressed to make 10 cases.
Even if we all got 4 cases each that's still only 16 total not sure he will do it for that.
We need more nitro heli guys to jump in with there fuel needs.
John Fields may need a few ?

Jay there are a few more things to consider also. One is the price. Unless you can get it cheaper than say Wildcat not many will switch. Also most of the airplane guys like to support Butch at Hobby World. I personally will not be switching. I like the way Wildcat runs and like the fact I can get multiple seasons on an engine without replacing bearings. I will let you guys fly the new fuel for a year or so and see how things hold up first.

$280/6gal, $46 a gallon? I haven't bought fuel at a store in a while but this is a bit much. Maybe I should start looking at generators and a 700e (I already found a 1000W charger). I could coordinate a wildcat delivery but it would need to be in the +50 gallon range to offset shipping.

I could use 4 cases, one or two more if it makes a difference.

46.00 a gal???? WTF. Does anyone really pay that much! I got the name of the guy from TX that reps powermaster as well, met him a couple of years ago at Toledo, still have his card.

Let's not all get crazy until we see what the actual cost is. I put in an email request. Obviously if the price is even $26/gallon no one likely is going to switch. I thought last year he said he would match what we were paying for Wildcat. Not sure he will for 16 cases but we'll see.

Chris, I'm not sure getting two season out of a set of bearings is all that great if you only fly three times a year! I only got about six gallons out of my first set of bearings, but from what Steve tells me that's pretty typical.
