You can crash em 50 times before you need a part but sometimes its only once, they are pretty durable considering its not like flying a 10 pound heli.

Some of the parts are pricey for what they are, but they can take much more of beating than a big bird. One of the problems is because they are so small us beginners try things we normally wouldn't with the big one and pile the little one in. I can almost guaranty that I hit something with the small ones due do pushing every time I fly. If I did that with the 550 I would be out 1000s. The little one cost 10-40 to fix each time.

Adds up only because we keep smashing them into lamps, driveways, parked cars, hardwood floors, ceilings, basketball hoops and those damn foam planes taking up our center court space!

From my experience the 130X is more durable than the mcpx. I have beat the dog piss out of my 130X and have only broken the tail boom once. And actually it still flys with the broken boom because it split length wise. Last time I flew it at the field I piled it in nose first so hard that it literally bounced 4 feet back into the air. It still flew after that. Not many other heli are going to do that. Lynx is coming out with all metal gears soon with a $3 cf torque tube as the fuse for crashing.

I was wondering when Mr. "I'd rather play with my wood than go fly at the gym" was going to chime in ;-)Remember...runways are for models and wings are for fairies.

The only way to make that worse is if he was building foam planks.

If you had as much wood as I do you would be playing with it as much as possible too.

I actually played on the sim for the first time in like three months the other day. I forgot how to fly (hover). Phoenix has the 130X now and it actually is pretty accurate from what I can tell. It disappears just as fast on the screen as it does in real life.

Get the 130X. And yes you are buying one, all it takes in this hobby is to "think" about getting something and soon enough it shows up. Especially with pushers like madmax.

Hey Brian App and Tom have you guys seen this? http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=481051

Looks like Futaba finally came out with firmware V1.3 for the CGY 750 and the reviews are outstanding. It is now a plug and play fbl controller. Not that Steve had much trouble setting mine up but I know a lot people had trouble. Must be why I don't see them for sale for $150 anymore.

I did put 1.3 in a few weeks ago. 1.31 came out recently for some minor bug fixes not noticed until wide release. Every post seems to really like it. I can't comment on a performance difference on my set up as I have not flown with it yet. The menus have been cleaned up a bit. The "basic" menus are a lot smaller. It is now supposed to be a quick set up for everyone. Basically put it in, check the servo and gyro directions and throws and go. It was like this for some people on 1.2 but a lot of people spent a lot of time trying to get it to work right.

It was interesting to watch most of the cheap sales go away the week of release. The time to pick up a used 750 for cheap seems to be over. I don't know why those people couldn't wait for the next update. An official statement from Futaba stating a potential release date would have helped. I know it went through a ton of revisions prior to release so maybe a target month was impossible to guess.

So Steve, you're liking the Nano a lot?
I'm assuming that's the one you landed on the ceiling with.
