DFC.....bad deal! Stick with the regular align head with the swash driver arms bolted to the head block.

I think I am going to leave then long main shaft on it and then machine the link arms longer to keep it up in the air and still get the correct geometry the 500 is already way up most in the air compared to most helis.

Maybe the RJX head might be the way to go on 50's and 90's. I'm thinking about converting.Bald Pilots usually wear hats!

I used the RJX head and they DO NOT survive crashes without destroying the blade grip almost every time.It rips the screws out of the grip and also bends the link coming out of the grip, the good side is you save the servos most of the time, bad news is you need new blade grips most of the time.

Align came out with the new grips that has the arm bolted to the grips to keep the grips from bending, the 50 size RJX head is the same way..Just picked up a RJX head for my 600E about 2 weeks ago and will find out if the grips bend.

If they do,i'll go with something else..

I dont plan on crashing anytime soon but no one ever does LOL
Lon what is the part number for that head block ?
I Like the DFC head as you dont have to use any mixing arms, I will find out if things can be corrected without running a short main shaft thats why the boom strikes happen its too close and when the blades and boom flex disaster happens

Do they cut grooves into the grip for the arm to slide into ? That would help the bolts from ripping out of the grip in a crash, the sacrificial part is the arm which is 20 bucks to replace.

Oh my Effin Gosh!
It is awsome! Stable, locked, absolutely no trim needed, powerful, quiet.

I need to tame it down a bit, pitch climbs are super fast I was so surprised the tail stay locked. I set my gain at 37 on the bench and never had to touch it. The tail is locked.

I am loving it.

At 1950 the head speed is fine for now, but it does need more. I may just order some 2S packs to go with the 6S packs. Then I will have all kinds of options.Friends don't encourage friends to fly helis! It can cause part shortages.

Glenn, did you see Bill's post about the 550? He'll make you a heck of a deal, he can't fly it anymore, contract restrictions! I'd check on that and save yourself some $$.Bald Pilots usually wear hats!
