If your heli falls out of the sky because components are falling off of it, it's kind of hard to blame the heli brand.

If want to "one stop shop" for a heli kit then the Align is fine. For me searching out different components and putting together my own combo is half the fun. At the end of the day any heli is only as good as it is put together and setup.

When I get my Heli's Experience trades the gpro that come with it for the beast x for free. Steve(our Heli guru) swears by beast x. Now that I've flown them a few years I do agree with him

I have the ar7200bx. It's a good fbl. Easy to program and field adjustments. No cables or adapters needed... That is the best part for me.
I also have this mini k bar that came with my used trex clone. It flies nice, but is set kinda soft and I don't have the program disk to hook it up to my laptop so I can adjust it. Frustrating...
I like that the gpro can be adjusted from an app through my phone. Can't wait to feel it fly.

Grrr, my trex clone went down this evening. Either the tt broke or the gear blew up. Not much other damage. Good thing I picked the field with tall grass. Lol went into a full on no tail spin, managed it to about 10' off ground and hit the th hold meaning to try to auto it the rest of the way, but the blades folded up instantly and kissed the boom. Looks like blades, tt and or gear, and a new boom. Not too bad.

That sucks

The worst part is when you don't know for sure what caused it.

I'm hoping to find one or the other broken not both, then ill know. Either way blades will be the most costly to replace. Lol the guy I got it from did some upgrades with align parts, but couldn't remember if he did the tt and gears on this one or not. Just lucky the grass is about a foot tall in that field, it landed on a pillow basically.

Lol, this is my 4th season flying cp. I started on coaxil for 2 years. Then begged my way into a super cp when they first came out. Then got my blade 450. Been flying 450 class for 3 yrs. I can do enough to keep me wanting to progress more, but am no pro by far. Lol I practice on the phoenix sim almost daily. And I do a minimum of 10 autos per sim session. I land under power for the most part, but want the ability for instances like tonight. 2 yrs ago I would have hit the hold when the tail first went out at about 50ft up.

Noble, if your blades folded when you hit hold your not tightening them nearly enough.

I'm not sure that is what happened here. I do keep my blades fairly tight. Have to use both hands to move 1 blade. I'm not sure but I am thinking it was due to the extreme pyro it was in and the lower headspeed I was in. I dropped it into idle 1 which is 70% th. And I had no tail going at all. Even now the blades are still tight.

Just took my tail boom off. It appears that the boom had slipped back a little or something because the front tt bevel gear is stripped half way into it. Weird. But that is why I don't like to buy used stuff. I should have gone through it, that's my fault. But the heli was flown, landed, then I took immediate possession so I thought it was all good. Let my mishap be a reminder to all, it is good practice to check everything out when dealing with a heli that you did not build. Also even time to time check that all screws and fasteners are tight even if you built it yourself.
On a second note, this is the first 450 crash I've had that will cost less then $35 to repair. just mains and the front tt gear.
