you are correct. I set my helis up to hover without trim mechanically as well. I didn't express my point well enough. A search on level swash here on rr will show many different opinions on the "perfect" swash. When we are talking about "perfect" we rarely experience perfect variables. we can hold our helis and try to find a perfect cg all we want but rarely can we find the perfect balance. when i say perfect i mean to the gram. therefore when we set up our swash "perfectly" which is easy enough to do with an allen wrench we have in our shop (no need to buy a tool) and some zip ties, we are not figuring in the imperfect cg of almost every airframe(different servos, spacers,on and on). my posts in this thread are considering "perfect" variables, which are very hard to come by. granted if you set your swash up perfectly level you are a step ahead, but you may not be "perfectly" setup. i hope this makes sense. a finger hold to test cg balance, to me , is not "perfect".
If the cg is perfect, I don't see why not... my heli hovers sweet without a click of trim
fly it like you stole it
