Piro rotations
Im surprised no one mentioned rotation direction. If you watch the pros, they piro the tail to the left. For years I did snowballs and piro loops by rotating to the right. I have now changed over to the left and they work much better once you are used to it. The helicopter naturally likes to piro to the left using up less head speed.

I'd like to thank Hirobo pilot Jason C for showing me some awesome piro work on my reflex xtr last night. He was doing some nice piro snakes and flips. He can keep a piro flip on a dime and move it anywhere at will. He never sims...makes you sick.

Your therory is incorrect, if your main blades spin CW, the tail wants to spin in the opposite direction which would be CCW. For every force there is an equal and opposite force. Therefor the tail blades are working harder to make the tail spin in the same direction of the blades, because you are counteracting the torque. In simple terms if your tail let's go it's going to pirouette to the right all on it's own. What ever direction your main blades spin CW or CCW it's going to be easier for the heli to spin in the opposite direction.

These are two contradicting statements...

Just so everyone is on the same page, most folks will probably understand "right tail" as right rudder INPUT, or a CW rotation of the helicopter's fuselage as viewed from above the rotor disk. So in this particular case, your understanding if "right tail" is actually backwards from the majority. Left pirouette is CCW, right is CW. If you lose your tail in flight, your heli will pirouette to the LEFT on its own.

Other than that, you and ifly65 are actually saying the exact same thing.
