You do know that you can open up the back and adjust the tension, right? I loosened mine up and it's as smooth as a baby's butt.
yup, I had adjusted both radios. I guess it is just a hair smoother than my dx7, but just barely (after loosening it almost all the way). I was expecting a bigger difference.

BTW, for those who went from dx7 to 9303, can I just copy all my settings over (I know I have to enter it all manually), but I think I remember reading something about the subtrim values being different? and Endpoints?

Thanks

DX7 to 9303 you'll have to transfer the settings manualy. The transfer cable will not work between the two...

In October, 2007 (possibly earlier) the Quick Connect/ voltage recovery system was a standard for the X9303 and the others manufactured with DSM2 as well.

A faulty set up can trigger a failsafe on any 2.4GHz radio --
Not really certain what you are talking about as the DSM2 system is as solid as any on the market.

The claim of 'brownout' is a moot point .
"CAN" you cause the event??? Yes with any 2.4GHz system, simply through a faulty set up.

There has not been a problem with brownouts with the JR/Spektrum 2.4 systems for about 2 years now. All of the receivers have the quick reconnect function now, so in the event of a brownout, the receiver will reacquire the signal nearly instantaneously.

spektrum has had a history of unknown "lockouts" not brownouts, Horizon has blamed the issue on poor setups or insufficient batteries. I am just asking if JR or Horizon has fixed the issue. I am not talking about the low voltage issues that were discovered with 2.4 systems. There have been numerous posts about complete lockouts with Spektrum based 2.4, where the battery checked fine after the crash and the lights on the receiver were not flashing.

Unknown lockout/glitch were also common during 72Mhz era. Of course, pilots also blamed the radio mfg. At the end, it's almost always poor setup.

I personally have not heard any lockout issue with Spektrum radio that could not be trace back to poor setup. Most common problem have been battery related. There is also poor servo wire routing coming very close second.

People were using a capacitor in series with the battery in 2007 and 2008 to prevent this issue you're talking about because high servo current draw was causing the RX to reset which took about 10 seconds--often resulting in a crash. The release of the version 1.6 RX software with all new receivers in late 2008 with the instant reconnect seems to have resolved this issue. In addition, JR/Spektrum recommends against using 4 cell NiCD or 4 cell NiMH RX packs because they do not provide enough extra voltage to prevent the receiver from dipping below 3.5V under high current draw situations (such as stalled servos).

So...this still only has "bushings" and not bearings for the gimbals correct???

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Same stick assemblies as the 10X .
Yes 'bushings' if you mean it does not have ball bearings.
Accuracy, yes. Smoothness, yes.
Due to their design the 'bushings' are far too small to allow a ball bearing to be inserted.

BTW
I've never heard the 10X stick assemblies called anything but smooth and accurate.
The much revered Chidgy stick assemblies of "old" also had no ball bearings.
They are still at the top of the Single Sticker's list and bring a premium when located.
Personally I'd choose them over any of the sticks now offered but they are the "open" design so they are not in style today.

The first ball bearing patent was in 1791.

Seems to sell well in 2010 however.

I would like you to take the time to verify your statement.
Citations would help.

A 'known quantity' poster would help as while we've moved to 2.4GHz SS we have absolutely retained that group who cry "It's the radio" following every mishap. They seem immune to improvement by technology.
