Hey all. Well, I've been out of helis since early 2003 and I am now getting back to flying. I started out in 1984 when you had to build your own blades, and gyros were mechanical. I learned to fly by trial and error, but I learned quite few aerobatics, but of course crashes were often and very expensive. I am working with the simulator and hope to be back flying fairly well in a few weeks. I have 4 helis at the present, 2 glo 30's, 1 glo 60, and 1 3D electric. My gear is a JR 8103 PCM on the ham band, all OS engines, a JR Heading Hold Gyro for one machine, a couple of CSM's for two machines, and a Telebee for the other machine. Do you think flying the sim is going to be the best way to learn good 3D. I was never that deep into aerobatics before, but I would like to try it out now. Looking foward to the coming season. Ross, North Georgia

Sims are a great tool for learning. I would use it as much as possible if I were you. It probably wouldn't hurt to upgrade servos and gyros in those helis to some of the newer stuff.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. Yes, I will keep working with the sim. No reason to tear anything up if I have a help to work with. Yes, I will upgrade my stuff. I think I will fly it for awhile. All my servos were JR's best at the time I was flying and the gyros were good at the time. I want to do a scale bird also this time. Ross
