Thank you so much for the information. That really helps. Do you know if there will be a telemetry system for battery voltage from flight packs? With the big shipment going out next week I hopefully will get mine by next week. Thank you again for the information.

There's an SPC port on the receiver that allows you to power the receiver seperately from the servo power bus. This port can take voltages up to 35 volts. If you power the receiver with your flight pack through this port, that is the voltage that will show up on the TX display.

So would you just add an extra plug to the battery side of the ESC and disconnect the red wire fron the throttle plug? Or is there another way to make that work?

Yes, Extra plug on the battery side plugs into the SPC port of the receiver. The BEC in your ESC would still be required to power the servo bus side of the receiver, so leave the + wire in the connector.

HPP-22
Got mine yesterday, plugged in the HPP-22, plugged Aurora in and it updated to 1.06 firmware right away. Ran fine on Win7 64bit. Still, very pleased with the radio......still exceeding expectations..

Software bug in 1.05

1.
Touching the time should reset the time but it only works while time is ticking. When the timer is stopped, touching the time will put you in the timer setup program.

Default should be when the timer is at full, it should go to setup menu. When the time is not full, 1st touch should be time reset, 2nd touch should take you to setup.

2. Throttle delay in T-H

Do not use this right now. The delay number should be servo slow. For example, 1sec setting should take current position from T-H to curve position in 1sec. At the moment, it will wait 1sec before going full speed to curve.

Channel Programming.

Current default is 1,2, and 6 for the cyclic. Using fast servo and pumping the pitch fast will show slight lagging on ch6 (pitch) when compared to slower stick movement.

Pulse frame for the signal is done in ch number order (1.2.3. .. )
Set your Pitch channel to ch3 and put Throttle on ch6
This should minimize out of sync movement.

Later firmware might change the channel order for cyclic channel grouping. But, in case they don't, default channel setup model will be available at Hitec site which you can download as an initial model setup for helis.

I have not updated it to 1.06 yet. When the programmer comes, I will check for above bugs.

I predict the latency numbers won't break 40ms on the Aurora. CCPM performance will be abysmal too.

Well, the good news is that with 40ms latency numbers guys will have time to take a coffee break, squirt the bladder, and jump back into their manuever where they left off.

Hey, did Hitec eat corn yesterday?

Yup I know what you guys are sayin......It's super simple to program, but I'm thinkin right now I want my rds 8000 back in my 90. Although it does seem to feel quick. The expo program in it is $hit.

The average latency of the A9 is 52ms and the CCPM synch is sequential which means that you have to program the channels adjacent to each other not to get channel lag.

An SD10G by comparison is over 7 times faster on all 10 channels. Wait until you read the review article. I've never read as much backpedaling and BS justification in all the years I've been in this hobby. For the last few years we've been getting hammered with how important speed is, the Stylus set the standard and now speed apparently just got deepsixed in a few keystrokes. Way to go RC Heli.

Sorry to say but you may be stuck with it. As anal as our group is about latency numbers I don't think that a software/firmware update is going to make the A9 faster.

I thought Mayberry said this thing was all digital and fast. Well back in the 70's a DEC PDP-11 was fast too.

Heck, with 52ms by the time the A9 tells a pilot the voltage is low on the receiver pack the model will be crashed!
