I am setting my heli up for the first time with the aurora and have a question about throttle hold. Can you set a pitch curve for the throttle hold, or is the pitch curve that you are currently using when you hit the hold button?

I'm waiting for mine too, form Tower Hobbies. I called them and they said they have about 100 on back order. They couldn't tell me where I was on that list...

is there somewhere I can find what switches are 3 position and which are 2 position. Also, are there any of those switches that are kinda like the trainer one's that don't flip but I don't know how to describe it other than it "bounces back" on it's own when you trip it? I think I know where one of those are at, and it's in the usual spot where I have my Heli throttle hold.

On the fence about this radio. I'm really liking the power of the programming offered, but I really am spoiled at the features of the spektrum recievers for heli pilots. Not sure if I wan't to switch everything over.

Plus I'm kinda scared on that post someone made where the "center" for their radio was quite a bit off spec of where it should be.

Also is T-lock in gyro mode same as head holding? On my JR 12x T-lock is head holding. I like this feature in my 12x.

You can download the manual from Hitec RCD.

There are 2 3-position switches and a Dead Man (trainer) switch.

If the centering is not spot on, makes no difference to me.
I have 3 identical servos, they center slightly different from
each other out of the box.

Can't answer the T-Lock question. Maybe the manual will help.

On the top left of the tx, the rear switch is a 2 pos switch. The one in front is a 3 pos. The 2 switches above the throttle stick are 2 pos. Above the aileron/ele stick the switch on the left is 3 pos, the other one is a 2 pos. On the top right the front switch is 2 position, and the one in the rear is spring loaded like a trainer switch.

Got one on the weekend
Nice radio and the feel is great. I think Hitac has a winner here and they can compete with Futaba and JR. I have flowen almost every hi end radio and been flying with DX7SE in the past, but alway wanted to get a good 9 ch radio, well after doing some serious reasearch I decided on the Auroro 9. Telemetery was a big option and firmaware upgrades is good idea. This radio is flexiable in every way. I am not a JR person and never will be, but being a Futaba person for so long, I think I got pulled in by the HITAC AURORA 9.

I finally got to fly my Aurora 9 today in my new 600esp, its rock solid and lightning fast. I usually run about 30% expo but had to increase it to 40%. Awesome radio, the only negative is if you leave the backlight on all of the time the battery goes down pretty quick. I may invest in a lipo for it.

I know that rcerodyne is getting in a huge order of these radio's in the next couple of weeks. I already have mine ordered through theres and cannot wait for it to arrive. I sold off my X9303 for this radio and it should be a great radio.

My last radio was an X9303 as well. This radio has a better feel to it IMO, much faster IMO and just does a lot more, for less $$.

I found a potential issue with the Aurora, maybe. It might be user induced but maybe not. When setting up my heli's pitch curves I noticed that the servos got very ratchety only when I would move the collective up and down, but not left or right. I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on with this, and thought maybe the servos were bad, but was not the case. After looking at all my settings, in the pitch curve setup you can turn expo on to smooth out your pitch curves. I had the expo active on the curves, but when I turned the expo off, the problem went away. Not sure the deal with that but it appears my radio had gremlins when trying to use the expo function in the pitch curve setup. The radio is in a Trex 600esp with 120 degree swash.

sounds like the swash and/or swashout is rattling on the mainshaft as they slide up/down. Try oiling it?

I did oil it to make sure it wasn't that, and when I disconnected all of the linkages from the servo, it still did it.

that is weird. might try hooking a spare servo into the RX and see if the same symptom shows up. If so I'd call their service center.

I don't think its a servo. All 3 of the cyclic servos do it with the expo turned on when the collective is moved up and down. If you move the ail/ele stick left or right it does not do it. It has to be a function of the expo function built into the pitch curve if you turn it on.

So Far
Wow, I like this radio, feels good and nice to program. The only downsides I feel, needs a bigger battery and channel 9 shares with battery port so you need a Y harness. The touch screen works well, assigning anything to anything is also nice. The 'C' and 'S', "C" is combined so if you want the same setting in different flight condition use it... "S" is for single so as to make the setting unique to the condition. I am really glad I got this radio!
