Sounds like fun!
Seems like a good group and lots of fun. Glad to hear that the field is getting use and the gang is hanging in there!

I was in Jersey at the MCRCS Jumbo Jamboree. They had a good turn out and lots of really nice planes. I took so much video I had to divide it into 3 separate films, all now live on you tube.

Happy Memorial day to all. Have fun, but remember those who gave their all so that we could have our fun. I want to get out, but feeling really lazy. Shame on me!

Flying today
Going down to the field today. Frank is up and on the way to the field now. I'm working on a quad and should be down in a while.

I'm back from 'The South' just in time I guess! Bring your tents! They're claiming off/on rain but don't let that stop you as they're usually wrong. It will probably be a glorious day

This Saturday
I went to a similar event at this location, a full scale airport, 2 years ago, and it was quite good. I checked an RC groups forum and the chatter is favorable with some big guys coming from some distances away. I think Tom Hunt from the SEFLI (the NEAT fair group) is coming. I am planning to go.

I hope the link works. If it doesn't just do a search for the Warwick electric fly and you should find it. Sorry they don't want helis tho...

This weekend is looking pretty good to fly. Highs in the low-mid 80s vs near 100.

Would love to join you but OMW to a BBQ with Roy Vaillencourt. Going to give him a couple of my WW 1 giants!

Will probably get to New Paltz HS in the morning...

My understanding is that a small lightweight plane lost control and broke a window on the house. So no injuries or anything of that sort thankfully, however we're no longer welcome at the field.

I don't know if this will change in the near future considering the lady's original opinion about us when she moved in there a couple years ago. She now has more ammo to use with her dad to keep us out of there and I'm sure he doesn't want to have to deal with it.

Without us having any kind of financial interest there, or the land owner needing anything of the sort from us, the easier solution for him is to just move us on out.

This is the sort of thing that could have happened at any time for any number of reasons especially considering the amount of time we've been there.

We should be thankful for the years and years that Ed did allow us to fly there and not too bitter about the situation and maybe even a nice gesture to send a thank you letter or something for the time he did let us use the field.

The best bet is probably to find a new field in roughly the same area. Maybe something spacious all around with a lease fee so there's benefit for the land owner. Existing flying fields in the area aren't very welcoming to heli fliers, if at all, so it's probably best to form one from scratch if there's enough interest.

If anyone has any contacts or ideas about locations which may be available it'd be great to hear them. And if anyone is in direct contact with Ed, see if he knows a farmer who would lease some land.

Ed's farm
I had many good times at Ed's farm, and am sorry to hear of the incident and closing. Ed owes us nothing, and we owe him much.

I'm not sure if there are any funds in our treasury, but I would like to see a check sent to Ed, even if he said no thank you already to offers (I assume there were offers) to pay for the window, about 200 dollars would be good I think, and this regardless of whether or not we ever fly there again. If there are no funds, I'm willing to contribute.

AL, thank you in advance for calling Ed, and I'm sure you will tell him how much we appreciated the use of his land, and no hard feelings. Maybe after all, he might let us relocate away from the house. After all, that is a mighty big area. And if he wants some cash rental, maybe we could manage that too.
