Sorry Rick, was just passing through on some business and didn't expect anyone to come out with the wind. Really wish I hadn't missed last Saturday, sounds like it was perfect.

It was the first 'crash' of my Twist 60 since I bought it, I do have footage me actually landing the thing in the wind, but this wind was gusty and changing directions a bit it seemed.

That's OK, Jon. I'm glad the damage was light. I got out around 5 pm to Mid Hudson's Wallkill field just to see if our mow guy had done his job (he has) and I brought my T Hawk and fly that in the gale. It was entertaining to say the least! LOL.

That new mower is sweet by the way, but the dust is already building up on it after just a week, a cover would be grand. I mowed at level 5. I tried at 4 where the little red indicator was set on the mower, but it's still pretty early in the season for that short of grass it seems.

The Kentucky Bluegrass in the mix seems to be waking up nicely, but the other breeds in there seem like they're not fully in season and still brownish.

Hey Chilli... Al spoke with Ed after I did and Ed told Al it was ok to fly After 9:00am Sooo... Plus it was almost impossible to fly as the wind gusts were absolutely terrible. A 90 size heli would have no problem with the wind but planks....Whoa ! tossed around like a piece of paper out there...it was bad..and I will fly in the wind but this was scary !

flying
hey guy's flying today was better then last weekend. i mowed the lawn and then did some flying. it was hard for me to take off from the grass. i had my smaller planes with me, the 2" wheels were not rolling in the grass very well. i would have cut the grass lower but i don't know how to change it on the mower. the grass is coming in very nice. we needto cover the mower with out a dought, it was covered in dust. well i hope next weekend is better so i see somebody there.

Flying Field
I'm in Gardiner near 44-55 NY. Where is the field. I am looking for new field to fly at and have been looking at a club field in Wallkill as a possiblility. I have a tractor with a field cutter that could help if close enough.

Joe,

I got your message, Al is on vacation and will be back soon. We are very careful and picky on who we let fly there, the last thing we ever wanted was a large club, keeping it small is what is so nice about our spot. When Al gets home we'll chat...

Make sure you get all the pieces...

Thanks guys, Let me know what the outcome is. I'm pretty low profile but understand if you are at your limit on members. The field is so close to me it would be nice to fly there.
