I'm thinking noon, maybe 1 pm saturday.Things of least use to a pilot:
fuel not in your tank
runway behind you
altitude above you

Just got back from the field..Had 4 decent flights with my trex450 and dumb thumbed the 5th....not that bad...blades, main shaft, flybar.. canopy damage but still OK...Now I feel better I got my first crash out of the way. This small heli holds up well.

I also mowed the grass...Not sure what height you usually set the deck so I set it to 3...Did not want to go lower without knowing what you like and also did not want clumps.

Seeya tomorrow.

Hi 528hemi
Sorry about the crash, and thanks for mowing. When I mow, I take it to the bottom. Lowest setting, highest speed. But if it hasn't been done since Keith did it last, it probably looked like a hayfiels and you might have needed to cut it long. Again, thanks!
Rick

PS: Am heading out soon.

Taking it right down to the lowest settings would have left alot of clumps...next cut can go lower..It was getting high. I think the sterring needs alittle work on the tractor. There is abit of play in the steering...

The corn grew huge in 1 week....wonder if I lose my heli in it if I can find it

See you tomorrow

Yup, Hemi, you were right. I went over it today on low and I could tell that it was long before you hit it. It's nice now. The steering definitely sucks, but what can you do?Things of least use to a pilot:

what a afternoon sunday was, scorf, i got 3 more tanks run through the plane after you left. and i am starting to get the feel for it. i might try a smaller prop? i am getting 9300 out of it when tached on the ground but it just seems slow yesterday at full throttle, but before this at the feild in warwick i could not run it at full throttle because it seemed too fast. i dont know if it is just me. i will have to get up there earlier this sunday, al i would like to get your opinion too on this plane.

I like to root for the underdog. Have you seen this for the freya? Varible flybar ratio head. Higher the head speed the quicker the cyclic. At 1450 you can put it in a hover, put the tx down, go to the car and grab a water and it will still be in the air.

Nitro,
too many parts, too complicated= too expensive
as for me I like the same cyclic ratio at all times. I think it's a good practice.
Just do it.
