1299.00 isn't too bad considering you are getting the complete motor servo setup and 3G FBL setup included.

What I want to know is, it looks like they have an ICE HV 125 ESC mounted in the picture. But CC has not announced that one yet. And they don't have one on their web site.

If that's really what it is, then I want one!

Just the right sweet spot for my 700e's.

I heard
through the grapevive that alan szabo was flying the factory 700 this past weekend in birmingham funfly and was using a CC iCE 160, said it`s the only speed control that didn`t burn up.

If you have the money then go for the Jive 120+ HV. The governor is awesome, it has a nice BEC and it's super light compared to the competition.

The Castle Ice controllers work absolutely amazing and they are here in the U.S. making it easy to get a hold of and costs are much lower than most other ESC's that work really well. You can run a Ice 85HV on your 12s with no problem.Ray N.

Ray, do you think that the 160's are overkill over the 85's then? Or would you just consider them safer?Team Kontronik Team minicopter/PeakAircraft

They both seem to be working really well. The 85 is lighter and smaller making it easy to fit on the model. I run the 160 as well and it fits perfect on my conversion, not sure how well it will fit where Align wants you to put the esc on the electricRay N.

Just received my 700E kit and I skimmed through the manual. The manual specifically recommended Castle ICE HV80 for most flyers, it even has a photo of it. Castle also has an ICE HV120 soon to be released if you think you can push your heli that much harder.

The ESC mount on this heli was intentionally designed to expose the ESC to airflow from main blades.

Information from Align's forum:

The 700E motor was tested on 12S at following speed:
Hover: 1900RPM
Idleup 1: 2150RPM
Average Current: 60 amps

After 5.5 to 6 mins, motor is at 58-70C degrees, ICE HV80 at 40-48C. Thats pretty impressive for the ICE considering it's pumping 3000 watts for 5 minutes.

ICE HV80 survived all stress tests on the 700E, with over 180 flights logged. The only time it failed was when they intentionally set the blades to 14 degrees pitch and tried to stick bang the cyclic. Of course if you fly like that nothing will survive.

FYI the K brand Jive was also used in testing. They suffered from overamp cutoff at around 80 amps in governor mode, even though the one used was rated for up to 120 amps.
