there is no piro optimization in the software of the Align unit.
Takes a fair bit of development to get that part right.
Align state in the manual that the slowest servos for best operation are .10 sec.
Faster servos on cyclic help apparantly.

Could be why its cheaper as well.....but then you still get the head....which probably cost them $20 to make lol.

Anyway, getting off track

For the love of the hobby

Guys:

The development costs on this software is much more then the hardware. However, once you get it right, the costs per unit can come down quite fast if you have the volume. Up until now, FBL has been a small niche market. I think that will change, and the prices will fall accordingly. No different the Flat Screen TVs, CD/DVD Players. The longer you wait, the cheaper they will be.

Bad part about the the March delivary date is that Align is going to rape them with sales,, especially since align is going to deliver in the next 1-3 weeks,, I just ordered my align 700 kit,, I wanted to check on the Total G I have always liked curtis's products but it is not worth waiting 3 months,,

Why not wait a few more weeks Read the reports and make an informed judgement.

The quote above already suggests the Align unit is missing the functionality of the 'better' FBL systems.

There's nothing like investing ones money in to 'tried and tested'

3D?? No - just another input error!!!

What erked me about Align is their gyro's have been lacking and instead of offering a firmware update, they just release a new model. I think they are on the 4th model of the gyro now and still can get any market penetration. That should tell you something.

I am excited to see Align doing flybarless. Hopefully, they will sell kits at a lower cost with a flybarless head now.

Price drop...
High end gyro still sell for around 200$ with plenty of competition

High end flybarless = now around 500$

My guess is that the price will settle around 400$ which is a better deal than 200$ for a gyro.

3 axis gyro for 400$ instead of 1 axis gyro for 200$

For beginner,
flight caracteristic = Better
maintenance = Less
Price = 275$ more
Plug and play = Yes (I know there is a debate here)

Why ? Because you do the setup in the software instead of radio (same learning curve here) and flight parameters are good from presets. So setup wise is the same and flight parameters are real good to begin with.
Dont forget that there is quite a steep learning curve to properly setup a mechanical flybar correctly. remember clinics ?...

Have fun !

Don't necessarily think that is good, makes it difficult on some helo's for a decent forward mounting position. Oh well!

Does anyone know if the G-View will work with the Total G

I ask this because I keep hearing something about a button G-View.

there is a new button G-view coming called the G-view2. It is NOT needed, as there will be computer software as well. However, G-view2 will be backwards compatible with Mini-G/ATG etc. So from what I understand, the answer is no, because there is no puttons on the Total G itself.
