I like having the flexibility of going 14S in the future if I so decide. That was one of the main reasons why I sold my 610iDuo to upgrade.

Crash: Again you are not charging a 12s pack, you are charging a 6s pack on each charger and then using them in series to make a 12s pack. Same holds true with a 14s pack, you would have a 7s on each charger. And to that I say why not use a pair of 208B chargers and have 700W of output and 8s capability on each for 16s packs?

Ace grow up man. We all know that the manual states 14.5V but there are no 14.5V power supplies out there to buy. It is just easier for everyone if you say 15V.

Oh and yes Crash 24V is superior for 6s packs but not for lesser packs.

The 720i's can be synced together via a sync cable(i'm using this). The balancer then sees the 2 packs as one 12s pack. So I get the best of both worlds. Lower cost 6s packs that get charged as if they were one complete matched 12S set. This is how I treat my packs. Once they are paired together with another pack, they stay paired as a matched set.

We could go on, but why? I'm am sure the other brand is a good charger as well, I just prefer my Hyperions.

My only point is that you made it sound like yo could charge a 12s pack on your setup and that is not true. This misleads new users. Plus I see no benefit to charging 2 packs on 2 chargers and pretending they are one pack. It makes no difference if you use the same charger for both packs or 2 totally different chargers. I see the "sync" cable as a marketing tool for Hyperion and nothing else.

Ok I am done and that said, you have a great setup but it is just costly and I don't have that much to spend, so I must follow a different path

Great points made here. I personally have opted to go with two I-chargers. I have a 250W charger and another 350w charger on the way. I can charge my turnigy 6S 5000mah and 3000mah batts in parallel as one 10,000mah and on 6000mah pack respectively. Of course I'm not balance charging at the field as I want a quick turn around to keep my helis and planes in the air. I do however balance charge at home separately. I will actually charge my 3000mah batteries at 2C which is right at 300watts of power with the new 350w Icharger and 1.5C with my 250w icharger. 5000mah batts are charged at 1C but will be selling them as Im changing to 12S on my trex 600 using 3000mah turnigys anyway. I'm currently charging off my truck battery at the field by the way.

FWIW: TJ I think he was refering to the hyperion guy and not you as to not getting it.

does anyone have G2 on the new high power TP chargers which are supposedly coming? the problem with the hyperion chargers is that you cannot charge a native 10s or 12s pack.. you HAVE to charge them as two smaller packs.. i have a number of native 10s packs (TP 45c) which can be charged at up to 6c (according to TP).. i have a 75 amp 13.5v. power supply.. IF i could find a 700 watt charger i should be able to power it...

The new 3010B charger coming in the next month from the iCharger folks should suit you perfect - 10S (native, single port), 30A max. charge rate, and 1000W.
