Well old fart, I think its the same logic that makes people automatically go straight for the needles when their engine suddenly looses tune, it couldnt be a airleak or a clogged fuel system. You see a lot of people dont realize this but thats what companies like Century do.... They purposely design these flaws into their own products so people go out and spend money on the competitions parts. DON'T FALL FOR THIS TRICK PEOPLE!!!!! Be strong... Think it through, learn your machine's and understand how they work. If after all that you still want to throw perfectly good parts away...PM me and I'll tell you where to send them and I will dispose of them for you free of charge!

May I ask why the Align tail parts when hundreds have been sold and assembled such that the stock items work as they should?
Not sure I understand it either. I dare to say that there are only 2/3 others that may have more air time on their Radikals than I do and I am using all Century parts. I have made some changes to the head, but they are still Century parts. The tails are completely stock other than the tail blades. I would hazard a guess that not many are flying them as hard as I am as well ( not to sound to egotistical ). So this baffles me as well.

Hey bec A couple of ideas for you, number one did you mechanicly trim the 770 gyro?MY buddy fly's them and he had simular issues on an eltric till he got the mechanical trim perfect, and second how free is the tail linkage, the links are pretty tight when new, I had to size all mine to loosen it up and get it nice and free.and third make sure the grips themselves spin freely.A tight grip will cause this.and if you have a tail servo with minamal tourqe it will really cause an issue.I try and get as close to 100% on the limit setting as possible to give the best resolution and it gives the servo maximum tourqe for new (tight)tail linkages. On the radical due to the way the bell crank is ratioed this puts the ball pretty close in on the servo arm.
Hope there is something in there that'll help you.

Because the Century aluminum equivalent was out of stock for months and the equivalent Align parts are cheap and readily available at the LHS.

There would probably be a lot more people flying Century products if they could buy kits and parts locally, or even be able to get what they want online without having to wait weeks to months for the item to be back in stock.

You do have a good point there. There is no doubt that if more shops supported the line, there would be more Centurians out there.

Few local Hobby Shops today are interested in creating the demand for items in their store. They now expect the manufacturer to do so e.g. by fully sponsoring or employing top pilots to do so for them.

This causes the consumer to ask them for it. Once enough consumers in the area ask them for it, they then will consider stocking it.

Also of equal consideration, is that if they do not stock it, they will be sure to say whatever it takes, to discourage their potential customers from wanting to purchase it. They will always prefer to sell them what they stock. SO many times you will find them badmouthing a brand they do not stock.

Fortunately now, the more knowledgeable flyers, albeit a relatively smaller percentage of the market, who want the better options, will order from wherever they can get what they want or need.

Fixed Tail Kick
Hello All
Thank you to all the replys for the tail kick issue. After reviewing relpies I thought,,drum roll If I have to take the 770 gyro off to use the gel tapes etc drum roll why not try another gyro as it is a quick switch. Put on a Futaba 401 and Tail Kick gone and it hovered very nice and was solid on tail. Now I am going to send in my 770 as I did remeber last fall I was getting an up/down kick on my trex 600n. So it may have been an issue carried on and enhanced due to the gas vibration. Now in the future when I get the 770 back I will use the mentioned replies to set it up. And again the 770 gyro may be just fine and just needs the gel tape ect but I like the quick fix. And thanks ct chopper for the offer of sending the gel tape, this is a great hobby.

Just to add I was close to 1800rpm H approx 1 1/2 L 1 1/4 and my throttle curves seemed low 0,20,20,30,33.5 Hovering at just over mid stick. vertical seems very responsive

New Problem---I have a 2700nimh 4.8 battery for ignition. Sanyo batteries (new) and it drains this battery in no time, less than 2 tanks, and it is right done at almost nothing on my battery checker. Any thoughts..

it will take a few cycles to break in your new battery,
it will last much longer after a few flights ( 5-7 ) or so..

have fun with it!

how many mah are you putting back in the pack?My radical uses 250 to 300 mah per 12 min flight.so your 2700 should get you like ct said 5 to 7 flights.Century heli rep. To much power is never enough.

Just a caution here when comparing timed flights to tanks of fuel burned.

If one person uses tanks of fuel burned as a flight, and the other uses 12 minutes of time as a flight, there can be confusion. If one can get 20 minutes of flying on a tank. The fellow relating to the tank of fuel rather then time, will be consuming a lot more battery power per flight/tank then the fellow using a 12 minute timer/flight.

e.g. I can easily get 3 x 12 minute flight per tank with my G231 powered Predator. If I use 350mah per 12 minute flight, that means I would use up 1050 mah per tank. So if I am using a 2400 mah pack I could safely get 6 or seven 12 minute flights, but only safely burn two tanks.

So if someone is counting his flights as burning one tank of fuel, he may only safely get two of his longer flights per charge of his battery.

good to know, I've never got even close to running my pack that low, i usually recharge after 3 flights.mainly because 3 flights at 12 min is plenty warm up time and I usually fly high powered eletric or nitro once warmed up.this way i don't burn up a half gallon of $35.00 a gallon fuel just to warm up.instaed i burn up a pint of $3.50 gas
this way no guilt of burning espensive nitro on warm up flights.sure makes my nitro supply last alot longer

Speaking of weight James. After this latest ignition swap out, etc. I am now down to 9pounds 5oz (dry). And that is with 640wc's blades that I am testing. Really nice machine, think I will be ordering a second soon!

The difference was 2.1 oz. But I was also able to eliminate the regulator for the stock zenoah since this one can handle 6volts.
