Helis still alive and flying in the Frozen north at the Heli Hut
Saturday the backbone of Northern Michigan Heli guys met up at the Hut. Chris and Lars plowed a path through the snowpack to the hut and made a parking area big enough for all of us. The woodstove was stoked up and 2 big boxes of donuts fueled the pilots for a morning of catching up, and turning blades.
Pilots attending, IN2Deep,Peacock,Tbone, Lars, Zolenator,Tbone,Scooter,Musty,Kruzzn,Dialarotor.

Spring is around the corner so hope you are getting your helis ready and spend some time with your diehard friends that still spin rotorblades.
Don't let the malaise in the hobby, the FAA CRAP and the drone craze bother you, just go fly and have some fun.

Wednesday night TRAMPS pay dues
Good time for heli guys to attend meeting
at 7PM Kings Court meeting room. Go up La Franier Rd top of hill turn in to KC and go to meeting room.

Pay dues for 2016 heli season.

Maybe wings after.

Update,=========================

Tbone and I went to the meeting. Should have recorded all those old guys that can't hear for a YouTube Video. Anyway we did our part and spoke up about flying at June Tramps Airshow, hopefully on our own line away from the planks like we use t do at Empire & BARCS. More flying time and not interrupting the planes.

Went to BWW for wings and soda after. Tbone fended off the renegade heli inquiry about a heli pilot flying at new subdivision across from TRAMPS. Nobody we know (CLINT), they had a noise complaint. We did't know anything, cough cough. Hey Clint, Tbays is a good place to do some winter time tune and testing just stay under 400'.

just crazy
Got hoodlums running around out there just pulling over anywhere, firing up noisy smokey toy helicopters, getting neighborhoods all riled-up. I'll bet it was those gasser helicopters, those are the preferred helis of hoodlums. You can spot them a mile away, no chargers, no flight box or fuel jugs, they have such big gas tanks they can fuel up at home and go for days. Just pull over, make noise for 10-15 minutes, jump in their blacked-out, unbadged sports cars and drive away with enough fuel in the tank to do it over and over.
So keep a sharp eye in case you ever see one of these heli hoodlums, because they're ready over at 911 central dispatch to send the black & whites out to get'em or better yet send in the FAA drone police.

Saturday update
Drove on up to Peshabestown to fly indoors. Flying the little
Blade 130x helis. Even ate a little foam Piper cub that flew into my carbon fiber blades. Airplane confetti. Opps!!!

Talked to Mike Lasker on phone and it sounds like several guys have convinced Randy to do the Mid Michigan Fun Fly again but with less frills, fanfare and hard work. Looks like it may be later in June as it doesn't look like Big D will be having his event.
Middle June is good, slow time, better weather. I would think Randy could skip the big tent to save money, prizes can be a lot of work too. As for food, Randy's was always great but just going out afterwards works too.

Also sounds like they've convinced Paul Binkley to do same for Chesaning airshow. Skip the food, a big headache for his wife.

So sounds like we'll have 3 events this year if all goes well, we were down to ZERO heli events. Will update when I hear more.
