Did any one try flying their AP2000i over water? Does it still work? I was wondering since the AP2000i uses the optical sensor from FMA and needs temperature differential to work. What if the water temperature is as cool as the sky above?

Oh yeah! Bullet thermals! Over here the thermals are fairly big.

How the heck are you doing Mike?

If the water is as cold as space, you got OTHER problems...

IIRC, the sensor is looking at the difference in temp, so the smaller the difference, the less it has to work with. Increasing the gain may compensate for this smaller difference, But truth is I haven't really seen it as much of a problem.

I have had no problems using AP2000i over water. A strong portion of my A/P work involves putting my heli's off shore, over intercoastal water ways, inlets and over lakes. Never had a problem............yet.
