I've swapped the flybar head on my helicopter and installed a FBL head. I have a HC Rigid. Test flew today and I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring which settings I need to tune to get the helicopter to respond more like it did when it had a flybar.

It's hard to describe how it feels now with FBL head. All I can say is I feel "disconnected" from the helicopter. It responds slowly to the sticks during the sticks first 2/3 movement. Beyond 2/3 stick movement response is very abrubt. Almost the feeling you'd get if you had too much expo dialed in the TX.

I've tried these FBL systems in the past and can never get them to feel like a flybar head which is important to the type of flying I do. Any tips?

BTW, this is on an 800mm blade helicopter weighing 18lbs turning 1200rpm on the head.

Thanks DJ, I was doing the exact thing these past two days. I put a Vario flybarless head on my eRaptor and the HC Rigid.

Exactly what I was feeling. I couldn't get the stability I want. I could fly it but wouldn't want to when I am doing a shoot. The helicopter is not stable during a hover and not enough control in forward flight. It seems like a disaster is always looming that I will run out of control.

I have tweaked different areas on the computer interface with the software and changed the control throws on the servo and swash plate. So far no dice. I would like to see what kind of answers you get here.

On PC you have expo settings see if they are deep it so put liner you might like it . I run mine liner on cyclic and lite on tail. Then your gains can change this but check expo first .I know the feeling it took me some time at first to figure it out but now it feels good.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)
