Only the Christian 'God' exists!!!! Scientific evidence has proven this!
2.1 Billion Christians have talked to God!

2.1 Billion Christians will go to Heaven, while the rest of the world will go to hell! So read the bible and pray every night, and go to church Saturdays and Sundays.

One True God, Many False gods...
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to discover
the True God from the False ones.

Read up on the WAGER by Pascal. There is a lot of wisdom
in this mans consideration.

The god of Islam, says: "Send your sons into battle against
the infidel ask them to give their very lives for Jihad."

The God of the Bible says: "I have already sent MY Son to die
for you, believe in His Life, Death and Resurrection and thou
shall receive Eternal Life, both now and forever."

.

I love gravity, it always keeps my feet planted when I fly!

If Christians receive eternal life both now and forever, why do they fight wars? They're not going to die, so why fight?

If Christians believe in "His life, death and resurrection", they receive eternal life, both now and forever. If non-believers are not granted eternal life, how can they possibly be damned to hell for eternity?
Does Allah exist?
Of course he does! In the minds of billions of mislead people who all suffer from the same condition, the human condition.

Diejenigen, die nicht lernen aus den Fehlern der Vergangenheit bestimmt sind, zu wiederholen.

Are Christians fighting a war right now? If so, where?

Every Single person on earth has eternal life already, just depends on where they choose to spend it, in Heaven, or Hell. The choice is up to them.

We will all live forever as a spirit being, when we die. We just have to find out whice place best fits our needs.

Wrong.

When we die, we end -- we cease to be. Species continue but individuals do not. That's how the natural world works -- and the evidence for it is abundant.

Then you wouldn't mind posting a link or two containg such "evidence", would you?

In an effort to preserve the original lighthearted tone of Shawmcky's satirical thread, HERE is all the proof you'll ever need.

Ah yes, but what is "YOU?"

I have a riddle, no matter what you consider yourself to be, that may be discomforting to those in hope of no afterlife.

I'll just go ahead without your response...

Suppose we are just "bits of information." Many people think that this means we just cease to be after we die. Like Windows Vista. It works as long as your computer is on. When you shut it down, it's gone.

If this is your understanding, that we are just "bits of information categorized in JUST the right way as to create consciousnes"

...you have a GIANT problem with your belief in no afterlife.

Given an infinite time period, in an infinite number of universes, what do you think the chances would be of someone creating exactly the same thing as Windows Vista?

If you've studied probabilities, this chance would be 100%. Like rolling dice an infinite number of times.

So now, you have to ask yourself, given an infinite number of universes, and an infinite amount of time, what chance is there of another YOU being created?

Think about it...You had NO control over entering THIS existence. What is to say that you will not be arbitrarily, against your will, put into another existence?

Answer that, and you can say there is no afterlife.

Hopefully, this next existence is as good or better than this one.

I'm not saying you need to believe in God. But denying the possibility of an afterlife with the confidence you do, under the auspices of logic, flies in the face of reason.

There are many schools of thought raging around that once a conscious being comes into existence it can never go away.

Aaron, like most humans, you're over-complicating your view of the subject at hand. It's a common characteristic for humans -- happens all the time.
what is "YOU?"
'Me', 'you' and every other sentient human and animal on Earth are nothing more than one after another of an endlessly-varied ongoing mixture of . . .

1) Our individual unique random genetic inheritance (nature)

2) Our unique upbringing and environmental circumstances (nurturing)

3) What we manage to learn from before birth about the world (knowledge).

Nature + nurture + knowledge = a 'me' or a 'you'. Simple as that.

That's the 'you' that everyone is -- and when the organism dies, the 'you' ends with it. From start to finish it's an elegantly-simple process, despite the human tendency to over-complicate it by over-thinking it.

OK instead of using the "bits of information" argument, I'll use your own words...

Given an infinite number of universes, and an infinite amount of time, what are the chances of the varied mixture of genetic inheritance and environment being created again in precisely the same fashion?

The chances are small, but given the infinite time scale...doesn't it become pretty much a given?

You are here NOW, and that is enough to know that something so unlikely DID happen at least once.

So what is the YOU? You exist right? What are YOU?

I'm just one of over 105 billion homo sapiens who've been born and lived here over the last 190,000 years. I'm here now and I'll be gone soon -- and knowing that THIS is the time to live -- not AFTER my body (and me) end -- calms and comforts me in ways Fable Thumpers can't possibly understand.

We humans are the Cadillacs of earthly mammalian existence -- nothing less, nothing more, and we're here only because of a series of randomly-favorable sequences of molecular and biochemical coincidences.

It's a simple formula -- no need to over-complicate it by over-thinking it.
To state with such certainty there is no afterlife...

To me means you HAVEN'T put enough thought into it.

I'm by no means "over-thinking" things. Try to reason through the logic I just presented. You won't be able to unless you believe in a finite universe.

we're here only because of some randomly-favorable sequences of molecular and biochemical coincidences.
I can do it with these words, too.

Given an infinite amount of time, and an infinite number of universes, what is to say that the randomly favorable sequences of molecular and biochemical coincidences will not occur again?

Answer my question. Directly. You've dodged it quite noticeably.

I think you've held a certain amount of comfort in the "abyss" of the afterlife and I'm threatening that with the possibility of a sentient one.
