Hi

I am in the market for a motor an esc. I am looking at the Scorpion 3026-1600/13t pinion. I see a lot of people use the CC HV45 with good success.

My question is that the HV45 is rated at 45a and the motor is rated at 70a/1470w max.

So should i go to a bigger ESC? If not can someone help with a explanation as to why this setup works? I do not want to have to buy another esc again shortly, I just want a good reliable setup.

Thanks

Jus

I have that same motor and ran it on the stock ESC for over 730 flights. Burnt the ESC and got the new CC ICE 75A and am very happy with it.

Ok seems the HV 45 is the way to go. Castle say that their controllers be used in systems that draw no more than 50%-70% of the batery's max continuous discharge rate.
So (25x2500)/1000= 62.5 A so 50%=31.25A and 70%=43.75A.

As for Align esc...some people swear buy them..i just swear at them...unreliable for for me.. had two fail!

I hope it works out, I still dont understand how a 45 amp Castle esc is big enough to run a motor that is 70 amp, specialy when even the stock kits are sold with 60 amp esc, if it were me I would go 60 amp minimum.

I have over 150 flights in an ICE 50 and it always stays cool so I think that the HV45 would do the job.

still think a 45a is way to small you will get some really high spikes on the 1600 that are going way past 70a..

look at some of the eagle tree data and im sure theres quick spikes over 100a

its your choice but you'll wish you had bigger when it frys or you have to baby your heli.
