On to gallon 5Very happy with this engine. Going on the 5th gallon and it has a lot of power, is easy to start and consistent in idle and running at rpms. I am running it at 11500 (1608 head speed)in normal 12250 (1713 headspeed) in idle up 1 and 130000 (1818 head speed)in idle up 2. Per Wally the engine can handle up to 13500 but that is a little too much head speed for me.
With the low set at 1 1/4 and the high set at 1 5/8 it is rich but has good power. If I run it in the afternoon I set it to 1 1/4 low and 1 1/2 high, 50's vice 30's F. Pitch is set to 12+ and there is no bogging with a full stick climbout. The temps have been in the 130 to 145 range whith the outside temps ranging from 32 to 50 degrees F.
I really like the fact that nothing is needed to keep the muffler on other than an occasional tweaking ( I check the bolts everyflight and once in a while they will nudge a little tigher) just a gasket between the exhaust port and the muffler (V4).
BTW this is my first experience with the carb with built in choke and it is really nice.
