I just think its kinda screwy that I have to send a radio back so much. And for 300 bucks that dam thing shouldn't have a scad of issues. I mean think about the DX6i . perfect example of the low quality thing. But the diff is you can get DX6i for about 100 bucks all day long tx only. for that price I don't expect to get a real good quality TX. but lets face it unless your a rich person 300 bones is a lot in this economy.

And just for the record the DX7 has been travel cased from day 1.When not in use that is . I dont dump drinks on it. Or throw it around. That is the futaba ground tx that gets that treatment. And it takes a licken and keeps on ticken. That is what I get frustrated with is the DX7 has been taken good care of and I get issues. and the radio I dawg on and dont really think about taking care of will take that kinda use.

All I know is I am going to have to make a change. cuz shipping a TX 1 or 2 times a year at 25 bucks a pop gets to be a pain.

I have both,, the DX7/DX6i both have many drops just do to trying to hold to many things at the same time. I have abused them simply from just normal use. Both scratched but still working as the day they were new. I have no complaints. One might drop a TX 1 time and it may not work again. Ive dropped a cell phone in a 5 gallon bucket of water washing my truck, fell out of my pocket leaning over. It worked for 8 months after that and 1 day just quit working. When I took it in they said its been wet. Well, yes it had, But that was not the cause of the failure. It was pre programmed to last so many years and its time was up based on the money invested in the technology.

Sorry about your luck James. I have been using my DX7 for a year now with out a single issue. (knocking on wood) It has just under 600 flights on it and well over 350 hours. A buddy of mine down here just had a problem with the pot on the tail rotor on his DX7se. A couple other guys here have been using the Dx7 for quite awhile now and havent had any trouble. My guess is, just a bad streak of luck.

821's are wonderful for a 30 size .
I wouldn't even think about putting the DS821's on any nitro heli, the motors make too much vibrations and thats what kills the servos. My buddy has the DS821's on his Trex 600 for throttle only and they crapped out 4 times allready.Throttle stuck open all times and once it stuck open at 3/4 throttle once .

I bought my DX7 used too and it works awesome, the switches ect.. do feel cheap compaired to my old Futaba 7CHP.I guess the better they make them the cheaper the build, might go back to Futaba if this thing starts to fall apart lol..

Specktrum Tx
There is lot of good information and opinions on this web site. It really does not matter whether it is Specktrum/JR or Futaba. It is almost the same difference as Ford vs Chev. Anything that comes across a assembly line has the possiblity of a problem getting through. Look at the problem with heat with the Futaba receivers. I have been using a Dx6i since they were release with no problems. Though I do have a 9303 I use on large scale gas aircraft.

Bottom line, I as of yet, have not seen any of the available system that is completely perfect. Ideally all of the systems should be more compatablily with each other so one could match his application with available equipment.
