figured i would post this here since most logo people use vbar

so i have mine set up travel adjust on tail is right i used the default logo 500 setting but upped the agility and the response to aggressive so i have a few questions

1.how do i adjust the amount of pitch i will get? is that just agility as well?

2 the swash moves in the right directions when i tilt the heli (away from motion) although it only moves slightly is this normal or should i expect more movement?

3. when i input full back or front elevator the swash moves quickly to about 90% of motion then last 10% goes really slowly is this normal?

4.what should be my checklist before flight to ensure the heli isnt uncontrollable i kinda dont wanna plow in my logo 500 on the maiden

thanks in advance for the help

Watch all the setup videos on the mikado website if you havent already. That will explain a great deal and eliminate a lot of headaches if you follow the correct procedure. Believe me.

The collective setting on the first page adjusts the amount of pitch (assuming you are using v4). As far as preflight make sure you get the little swash up and down after powering it on. Then tilt the heli forward/back/left/right and make sure the swash compensates correctly. It should tilt back when you tip the nose forward etc...

Also, you will not get alot of swash movement. There used to be a way in v3.6 to up the values to an exagerated amount to see the movement. It was really only used during setup. I haven't seen the same in v4 but I haven't looked really hard for it.

The surest way to disaster is trying to rush things. If you're not sure, you probably shouldn't fly until you are.

1. Cyclic pitch is controlled by Agility, which will really optimize pitch for roll and pitch rate rather than pitch angles. However, the maximum throw is controlled via the Cyclic Ring setting, which should only need to be touched if you have issues with CCPM interactions at the extremes of swash tilt.

2. There are two movements: one immediate and quick and opposite the direction of tilt followed by a second one slower and toward the direction of tilt.

3. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the directions are correct.

4. Check the movement in #2 above and make sure the tail blades pitch in the correct direction when rotating the heli (leading edge moving opposite the direction of tail movement) or giving rudder input (leading edge moving opposite the direction of rudder stick movement). If you have those responses correct, the heli will be quite flyable, maybe just not optimum.

cyclic pitch
ATV's on your TX ultimately dictate end point travel for cyclics....if you up the ATV to over 100% it will be like increasing agility due to allowing more cyclic pitch.

cyclic ring is only for the "corners"

Something else
If for some reason piro flips feel" funny" you can use the ATV's to even out the speedof Ail/Elev

Most vbarred helis I have owned seem to flip faster than they roll...so during piro flips the heli feels funny...I used to just up ATV for aileron a little bit higer to compensate...but that's all personal preference..

There is no way to adjust agility for AIL/Elev seperately in V 4.0...that's why I used the ATV's to do that...

Agreed - it's lazy and as TheBum said, rushing it could lead to disaster

No, the ATV's in the TX don't directly control servo travel
The ATV's control the roll/flip rate (think degrees per second),
just like the ATV on the rudder channel when using a heading hold gyro

Do you use a Futaba TX?
My VBar heli's flip backwards faster than forward and roll left faster than right
This does make the piro flips messy as you are getting different aileron/elevator rates four times per stir
I also adjusted my ATV's to get the rates the same
