I have always had great transactions on RR, Ebay and every other site I've been on whether I was the buyer or seller.

Just recently I was selling off parts to a Raptor 50 that I disassembled and everything was going just fine until a transaction with one person changed all that.

He sent payment on Sunday, October 11 and I was going to mail his item out on Monday; however, I forgot it was a holiday. So I went to the post office on Tuesday to get boxes for shipping and they only had large boxes which did me no good, so I ordered them online. I sent everyone a message that had paid about what happened and I would get boxes the next day. Well I went to several post offices and noone had the boxes I needed. So I started buying boxes at wal-mart or wherever I could find the right size boxes or ones I could make to ship the items in. So all paid items were shipped out. People started receiving their items, they were happy and all was good.

So on October 20, I get 2 boxes returned to me - come to find out some how the post office shipped them from Norfolk out to another sorting facility and at some point they were shipped back to the FROM person by mistake. I've never had this happen before and I thought it was absolutely ridiculous but I went straight to the post office and reshipped them.

During all of this I had received a few messages from RR member spy29 asking if I had shipped, telling me he hadn't received it and wanting to know why he hadn't received it. I responded and let him know that it was shipped, I let him know other people were starting to receive their items and it should not be too much longer, then I posted about the mixup with the post office.

On October 22 I get this from him:

Then it really goes down hill:

Hi spy29

I don't appreciate the tone of your message at all but I apologize for your frustration. You must keep in mind things happen that are beyond my control. Please read my post in the ad - http://www.runryder.com/t546240p1/

As far as where I sent them - it was sent to the address you gave me:

xxxxxx xxxxxxx
XXXXXXxx
xxxxxxx

If you notice my other feedback from people receiving their parts I believe that speaks for itself. Don't accuse someone of not sending something and don't attack someone in your messages until you at least find out what is going on.

Then he makes a claim with PayPal and is going off about how I never sent it:
"10/22/2009 05:33 EDT - Buyer: Seller , i haved tried to contact you several times.and no reply...afer a more than a week i get a rude reply with more bull**** stories..i do not believe your bull****. story..( claims post office sent it back to him the sender ).. give me my money back !"

Well your the seller so why would you take your time finding boxes "after" someone bought a item from you?You allready knew you were going to sale things so you should of allready had boxes so your items are ready to ship, not wait till someone buys things.Sounds like you didn't even keep him updated on whats going on,if theres a problem I and others wanna know whats the hold up,you should let them know whats going on.With all the scams going on the buyer has to do what he has to do,thats what spy29 did.

I would never buy packing stuff till its sold, why would you??? could go out buy boxes and then someone says they will pick up so wasted money.

But if Chroma-Z knows he can get boxes quick and easy no need to buy before hand TBH

Thats what I thought to - I mean so far everyone else has been happy and there have been no complaints. I thought I was doing the best I could.

The only thing I think I could have done better was to message the 2 people directly. I will certainly accept responsibility for that. I just did not think about it at the time.

It really bothers me that someone would think I was one to try and scam someone. I truly value my reputation and that applies online as well as in person. If there is ever any question about my online reputation look at my Ebay feedback - I have a 100 percent rating with over 230 individual positive feedback.

It really does bother me though that someone would basically accuse me of scamming someone. That is not me at all. Hell I'm the one that buddies in the military send money to to buy things when they're on deployment because they trust me more than their girlfriends or roommates. I had one friend send me a bank check for $6000 to buy a motorcycle for him - I kept it at my house for 3 months until he came back. I'm also the same one who helped a buddies wife while he was on deployment because she was pregnant with their daughter...and not only was I not married then but I also liked to go out and have fun a lot. BUT I have very strong morals and values especially when it comes to friendships, relationships and honesty.

Flying High - I did not buy boxes because I was selling parts and did not know who was going to buy what and what size boxes I needed.

Plus my plan was going to be use flat rate priority boxes or envelopes but I could not find them locally. Every time I have shipped something in the past the post office has always had a good selection of boxes in stock but not this time.

As far as not letting people know - I don't feel that is true. I let people know what was going on and when I would be shipping the items. The only aspect that I could have done differently was instead of sending a message to the 2 individuals whose boxes were returned I posted it in the thread of where the parts were listed.

so here it is again.. I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU.

Hi spy29

Why is it you feel that I am not communicating with you? You send me a PM and I respond - what else can I do?

Then you send a dispute complaint via PayPal after I sent you the message saying it was shipped. I really don't understand what is going on.

Do you honestly believe I would try to scam you out of $40? I am a 33 year old Geotechnical Engineer who is out of work right now due to the economy. I am not someone who is out to scam anyone. I have no reason to and my reputation is far too important to me!"

There have been quite a few sellers in recent years that have turned out to be crooks, or extreem slackers, so folks are justifiably uptight and start freaking out at the first sign of trouble. Just do what you can and don't worry about it.

I can understand that but we are talking about $40 for a motor. I guess I could more easily understand it if we were talking $400.

It truly seems that at this point all he is interested in is saying that I'm a thief and a liar.

I see what your saying but you need to understand, theres alot of scammers out there ( not saying you are ) so when things take about 2 weeks the buyer gets really jumpy.Ive seen people get scammed by members that been here sense 2003 and up thats had perfect feed back cause they trusted them. When people have been burned a few times the first thing they think of is "paypal claim" when its been a week or so.People have there own minds and don't think like the next guy does.If you need to get boxes once you sell somthing just put it in your ad so noone has a reason to get upset.Theres been a bunch of time I didn't find the right size box I needed so I cut one up and duck taped the crap out of it then send it on its way lol.The buyer has to cover there butt cause there $$ is out there in no mans land. Can't be mad at someone for somthing like this.Just try to keep a few boxes around so nothing like this happens.Im not good at explaining this over the net so please don't take any of this the wrong way .

I really do understand what you are trying to say Flying High. It was unfortunate because I thought I could just go to the post office, get boxes and have everything mailed out the same day. Well...it didn't happen. At that point I did notify everyone what was going on.

In hindsight I am seeing prior posts by this member and it seems as if he constantly jumps the gun and posts very sarcastic comments to numerous people. I guess this should be expected from some people...it is just unfortunate.

Speaking of "jumping the gun", it would be better if you had not posted this.

With all due respect, a better scenario would have been: you ship, he apologizes, and all is well. This thread is likely just be adding fuel to a fire. Only thing that matters is that box gets where it is supposed to be.

Ebay feedback - I have a 100 percent rating with over 230 individual positive feedback.
I have maintained 100% positive feedback on every site that I do business on. With over 500 on-line transactions, I've only had a handful of PIA customers. I have been accused of shipping damaged goods, not shipping, and even had Paypal claims against me. But, even those customers came to their senses and either left no feedback, or left positive. It hasn't always been easy. But, you have to take the good with the bad. If you have only had 1 not-so-good transaction, with 230 under your belt, you have done well.

Glad you jumped the gun even though there are better scenarios to play out.
Now however, more people are aware of this person and that is a positive result if not the final result.
Unfortunately, even if spy29 saw this thread I doubt if a light would come...

spaceman spiff - you know you are probably right - maybe I did jump the gun on posting this but I really don't like my integrity and honesty challenged like he did. He went straight from asking if I had shipped it to accusations. A total of 10 days passed from the time he paid till he accused me of being a liar and thief...paid on October 11, I'm a thief on October 21. October 11, 12 (Saturday and Sunday) he paid too late to ship on Saturday. October 13 holiday. October 14 went to post office expecting boxes but did not have any - I sent message to let him know. October 15 it was shipped (Wednesday). October 20 I get it back and ship it right back out.

FlyingHigh450 - I will say this it seems as if he has had some good transactions here but he seems to be very sarcastic in almost every post I have read and almost seems maybe a little bi-polar or something. Things go great with 9/10 purchases and then that one purchase just goes horribly wrong.

1stPlace - I guess you're right and I certainly appreciate that. I really hate when people feel that I have done them wrong.

To be honest whether Spy29 sees this post or not I really don't think it would matter. He has it firmly set in his mind that I have cheated him and am lying to him. I have provided him (through PayPal resolution) a copy of all communication with him which he claims we never discussed anything, a copy of the shipping receipt, and provided PayPal my feedback from RR and Ebay.
