I am trying to use the ma dampner instead of the stock ones.. It seems the grips bind up and get notchy with these in when i tighten the bolts.. What is the proper way to install these.. On each side of the grip starting from the head block there are the dampners themself, the washer that fits inside the ma dampner and the spacer then the grip.. Thats it and it still binds.. What is the trick. Can i take all the washers out..??

I don't know exactly why, but I was having the same problem as you are having now. I don't know how other people are doing, but this is how I have been doing it. When you fly and as the main head starts turning, your main blades are going to create a force which pulls your both blade grips outward, right?

So, check if your blades grips are smmothly turning when you give a little force with your hands outward(like pulling action on both blades grips). (<-o->

If so, it will be set after few flights. I am guessing that the dampners are sitting in right position or wear out to the right size.

I felt really bad when I had that problem, but it's been fine after I started doing this. I hope it makes a sense to you.

I also would like to know how other people are doing to their re-built head.

uhhhhhhhhhhhh
It works with one washer plus the spacer.. It still is a little notchy. I believe the grips should be so loose that they fall with gravity, not stay in the up position when you twist the pitch positive. They should fall back down.. They dont.. I think this head sucks.. Should I buy Kasama or is it my mechanical skills

As mentioned above.
Stand over youre heli with the cyclic links popped off!!, grab a blade grip in each hand and pull them outwards, with outward force they should turn smooth.

I shim mine up as hard as i dare 'very notchy', but always check they are smooth when pulled outwards.

I forgot to say that I have been flying JR helis like this for about 10 years and now I am using MA dampners on Vibe90 3D. It was tight at the beginning, but it is nice and smooth.

I have never heard people say to run them notchy like that.... I am running the MA dampeners and mine were silky smooth from the get go. They werent with everything original so I took washers out until they were smooth.

Just remove both shims while using MA dampers. Nothing is notchy here..
