It's a very large number, not at all unlike

2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2
x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2
Didja misplace your calculator?

Ok, I'll give this a shot
0 folds would correspond to 1 sheet of paper
1 fold 2 sheets
2 fold 4 sheets

It is exponentially increasing each time, the series formula would be 2^n with "n" being the number of folds. Plug in 50 and we get 2500 sheets

Maybe?

Edit: ooops, not sure what my calc was doing, correct answer is 1.123x10^15

Correct. 2 to the fiftieth.
we get 2500 sheets
Much much larger.

It's also not at all unlike 33,554,432 x 33,554,432, and it ain't gonna fit in your wallet after you finish folding it.

if you really want to impress someone, tell them it's impossible to fold a sheet of paper 50 times.

Your carcarlater seems to be working fine, Mark. I made a booboo my first try. The second try I got the same number as you, which is 1,125,899,906,842,624

Wrong.

We have a winner -- and with the commas correctly placed, you would've won a prize of no value whatsoever for which you'd've paid the shipping.

having commas in the wrong spot don't make the number wrong, they just make it a bitch to read.

Like this:

one quadrillion, one hundred twenty five trillion, eight hundred ninety nine billion, nine hundred six million, eight hundred forty two thousand, six hundred twenty four.

Folding
Now take a standard 8.5"X11" and try go fold it in half, again, in half 9 times. Can you do it?

Done. Got the car parked on it right now. A mere 512 sheets. Piece of cake.
