JR was probably using a very skilled pilot who had excellent pitch management.

I would tend to think JR knows the definition of "aggressive".
It was stated that "Our staff has been recording in-flight data to determine typical current consumption of aircraft in flight"

Just because you work there doesnt mean you can fly well. And by no means do I mean to offend you or critize you Lenny as your point is a very real possibility, but excellent collective management isnt going to save that much battery capacity. I think that everyones version of aggressive 3D differs. To me that would be Bert Kammerer. Bert has excellent collective management but he is very aggressive causing those servos to pull and push through very strenuous conditions therefore drawing a lot of current.

As a comparison to their tests, I am not that good of a pilot and pull as much as 350mah per flight from my 700 with almost an identical setup and about 250mah in my 600 per flight.

I am thinking their numbers are either off or its not "aggressive 3D" flying.
I say this because there are quite a few reports of overloading the 2n1 which would be impossible if the max current ever reached was only 3.33A as its rated for 6A continuous and I am sure even higher peak.

Whoops...........meant absolutely no offense to anyone's flying ability, setup or style! So sorry if my post sounded that way (which it may have ).
JR's observations would almost certainly have "some" self promotion involved.......lol
My main reason for posting this is to try a stop the "bashing" of Align products based solely on hearsay and not on experience.

Again, sorry if i offended anyone !

you didn't offend me by no means Lenny. I was just stating that their printed info in the manual seems to be inaccurate based on the statement of "aggressive 3D"

cheers!!!!

Hi all,
Iam using the new version align two in one bec as well.
I have connected the black wire to the crank case and the red to the plug.

now when i pres the glow button .. red orange and green are blinking very fast for about 2 sec and then they go off again. press again and same thing.
Press like 30 times and finally green orange stay on and glows.

Is there some kind of timer before u can glow?

i soldered a new mounting clip to the black wire maybe it was broken but not a change ..

kind regards,

Dennis

Well.. when i have pressed like 30 times yes it does..
then when i store my heli for one day and want to fly it next day .. same issue again ..

first i thought it was the material of the os 55 hyper that would not let me allow to get ground..
so i sanded a bit around the place where the ground wire is fitted..
same problem.

its so wierd

regards,
Dennis

I had a problem once where the threadlock insulated the engine bolt from the mount. Clean up the bolt and use less lock.

try soldering a jumper wire , so you would have 2 grounding points.
if this does not work send back, would not trust. never any other issues with? thanks for your time.

Thnx for the reply.

Further i had no issues with it. It is also in new condition.
I will try to make a jumper cable. but still its strange.
It is not possible that its being insulated by locktite because the clip is touching the backplate of the engine wich should ground. it does not ground only to the bolt.

I will let you know if the jumper cable works out.

Regards,
Dennis

Hello,

Well i tried to make a jumper cable but that also didn't work.
Even when only attaching a single glowplug did not work out and gave me a headdache. So yesterday i took it back to the shop and replaced it for a new one.

No problems anymore so far.
It came through my mind to take a seperate glow driver and the flightpower 8a regulator.. but this is more relax to have .. and i was not so happy that the flightpower regulator unit was not a closed one but open .. i could see all transistors etc ..

so far thnx for your help to the ones that replyed

Regards,
Dennis
