I have a new Align 91H. Can I break it in with 30%? Is there a brand difference?

30% is perfect.
Brand is not, just buy a good quality one. Some of the more known and used brands are Coolpower 30% and Rotor Rage 30% heli fuel. Both of these also contain oils to protect your engine after they have been run, so no need for "after-run" oil.

Note: Coolpower also has a "low Smoke" version and their normal version, they look the same (Pink)but the distinction is in the number since the LowSmoke has an LS in it.

I'm also going to pass on a little trick shown to me buy another heli pilot at the field.
If your engine gets hydro-lock, or your starter can't turn it over when normally it can quite easily, then tilt the heli approx 45 deg. on the muffler side down and turn it over with your starter to clear it but without the glow igniter turned on.
Then set it upright and try again normally, should spin right up. By turning the heli on its muffler, it allows the engine to clear the excess fluid causing the lock from it.

Hope this helps others.

Usually the more oil you have on break in the better so most %30 fuels will just be fine.

wildcat curtis blend works amazing as well. My 91hz has about 5 cases thru it and literally looks brand new inside the motor

+1 on the Coolpower 30%. I also used CY Wildcat too. No problems with either.

I personally did not like the Odonnels, but some people love it. The exhaust fumes burned the hell out of my eyes, when I switched to Byron's, my eyes were good again. Must be some onions in the Odonnels recipe!

Outrage 30%..

I finally got stick time for the first time last night on my trex600. Hovered two tanks of gas through her and she is still in one piece.

It has had three other light easy hovering tanks through her from the guy that helped me trim her out.

But my 700UL and OS will be running outrage also. I really really like the amount of smoke this fuel makes. It filled the whole air field last night as far as you could see.

interesting... almost all using 30%, which goes against what the majority of the pilots say in this current thread http://www.runryder.com/t548370p1/

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.
