I am running 3 9250's for cyclic on my Vigor, a 9250 on throttle and a JR 550 gyro with a 810 servo and I have a Futaba R617FS reciever. I want to run lipo and a regulator to feed them all, but I know nothing about them. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I would look at the Align 2:1 regulator and any 2S 2100-2500 RX lipo.
For example...

and this...

Keep in mind, the Align 2:1 is both a regulator and a glow plug ignitor.

thanks for that. Can you tell me about how long that battery would last before the need to recharge?

All depends...obviously the more Mah, the longer. Of course you don't want to run a 5000mah on there. I think I ran a 2300 Mah and it lasted like 6-7 flights before I got a yellow light on the 2:1. That size lipo will charge very quickly so you can recharge at the field and keep flying.

From what I've heard you want to stay away from that lipo, lots of issues with it. Just get the 2:1 and get your own lipo

If you don't want the ignitor feature and want to use a glow ingnitor you can probably just get a BEC that regulates down to 5 volts, that way those servos you mentioned will be fine, close to 4.8V.

It looks like most people are using the 2n1 from Align. Is 5.1v going to hurt my equipment or is the added voltage negligable? Are there any things I need to look out for when using the Align 2n1?

Yes there is an issue with the on/off switch being intermittent. It was documented on Ron lunds site. My 2 in 1 is only 6 months old and the switch has gone bad.

If it ain't broke then break it.

Well I went with an Arizona Fromeco reg. After all the stuff about the switches failing, I didn't want to take a chance. So I went switchless!
