You all talk about pulling out your nitros and such, but I would be extremely careful that you don't upset this guy too much. Might be best to go over to his house with some cookies and apologise and ask if there is a time when it would be convenient for you to fly. It wouldn't take much for him to get your helicopters banned from the park.

I try really hard at my local park to kiss up to the neighbors and I am very courteous whenever anyone says anything. Cities can get real restrictive if they think there is someone doing something dangerous.
Right or wrong, that's what i would do.

This guy was probably given a blade MCX and couldn't fly it. He is taking his frustrations out on you as you can obviously fly well.

You sound like a considerate person and you have taken his ranting to heart.. don't let it get to you. Some people in this world are just not nice and love to take it out on the rest of society.

Keep flying with consideration as you obviously do and don't worry.
More days at home would be nice!

i go past a park ever morning taking my daughter to school it has several football pitches and a big area for kids to play in their is usually about twenty people walking their dogs they sometimes walk
together while their dogs runaround behind them the dogs crap and the owners are oblivious as they are chatting about sorting out the worlds
problems i certainly would not let my kids play in that park.
ps their are notices up to pic your dogs crap up
i have problems with spelling

I don't get this whole noise thing. An electric heli is quite quiet. Yet if someone complains they can be banned. But motorcycles are allowed to run open pipes? (at least in Massachussets) It is illegal yet cops just look the other way.

Electric Raptor 90
I fly my Raptor 90 electric in my backyard of 2 acres.

No one even hears it or cares, not even the horses, to bitch about a 450 is like, ludacris.

I wonder if the park that bans nitros, what would they say about an electric 90 size.
I fly and then I fly some more.
If it don't glitch then I won't crash.

He didn't bitch at you because of the helicopter. He wouldn't even be able to hear it in his house. He bitched at you because some people are unhappy, negative grumps who have to bitch about everything. I promise you, he bitches to everyone about everything, and there is nothing you can do about it. I am estranged from my mother because she turned into an irrational, negative grump. I used to visit her every weekend and it was fine until a few years back when she just started bitching about every trivial little thing. A person could be just walking along minding their own business and bothering no one, and she would find fault with them and bitch about it. I couldn't handle it anymore, and told her, and it escalated into a horrible situation. She mailed all of us kids letters on how worthless we were, how we didn't do anything for her, and how we would never accomplish anything.

This all stemmed from the fact that she was retired, bored, and thought the world was supposed to entertain her because somehow in 75 years of life she never learned to entertain herself. We all simply stopped talking to her, and she moved over to Seattle.

This is what happens to some old people, they turn from rational, fun, reasonable people to bitter angry loners. The only thing you can do is either ignore them or find somewhere else to fly. You might want to start buying lottery tickets because you have better odds of winning the lottery than winning over the mind of an angry bitter lonely old man.

I saw frisbee and remembered the old man across from me when we were groing up ( Mr Frisbee)AKA everytime we played and it whent in his yard he would run out grab it and run inside . He must of had 100 or so of our frisbees . For the old man I always tell them they can fly my heli and start handing TX to them and they melt like a kid and say no but attitude changes . Old people become more miserable as they get older but also younger peopl tend to not slow down to understand why.I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Here is the park I used to fly at.

It is about 50 acres. Bathrooms are directly north at the top, parking is at the bottom or at the right by the Playground of Dreams. I've only heard of one complaint and we had the city come out and observe to judge for themselves. Nothing ever came of it. Just some guy felt like complaining because we were there flying, no reason at all as to why. The group of guys I flew with had talked about getting it sanctioned by the AMA but I moved to ID before anything ever happened. I moved back from ID and to this day I do not know if this field is sanctioned or not, but I see the other guys still fly there. I live 35 miles away so I just fly at home. This is where I fly. The helicopter is not there of course, when I fly.

I flew the helicopter in my above post to that park I pictured and picked up a friend took him for a ride and then landed and dropped him off. Had lots of onlookers but no complaints.

This works everyone will close all their windows and no one will yell at you.
If they can hear you flying they can taste the skunk.

Close the lid when you arrive once the lid is closed the smell will go away quickly and don’t forger to open it before you leave.

It comes with an orange scent can (Scent Bomb) camouflage it and hide it well in a tree or bush about nose high.

I wrapped the orange scent can with black electrical tape, always use surgical gloves and stay up wind when handling the sent containers.

Clorox wipes will remove a drop if it gets on you skin.

The reason I know so much about this, some people were hanging around to close to my property but not any more.

If the old blokes 60 and retired, it's time he got himself a hobby.

Nicros, you could be just the man for the job. Instead of getting pissed at the old timer, see if he would like to come out flying with you one time. Explain how the heli works, let him hold it and give him a demo on the ground without spooling up, I bet the ol' boy will love it. if you have a sim, invite him over for a play. You never know, you may end up with a 60 year old student living near by, not some grumpy old sh!t who feels like the world has passed him by and doesn't know how to enjoy himself in this crazy modern world.

I havn't come across a random bloke in public that hasn't been fascinated by the workings of an RC heli yet.

Lol...good one!

bottom line is this guy is bitching for whatever reason. You have to appease him or he complains to authorities and chances are you might get restricted.
is the park big enough so you can fly in another corner?

buy him a subscription to a heli mag!

Parks close to me are fine no problems ever.
I rarely fly in a public park, and I fly a T Rex700, but when I do the first guy is to show up is the park ranger, and he spends 10-15 minutes there every time watching asking if I've learned any new tricks and all that, he loves helis and airplanes

Tell the old fart to fly a kite. Now I can say that because I'm 70, so it's PC. Us old farts can say almost anything and get away with it !
By the way, I did take up helicopters after I retired (and motorcycles, and ....well can't say for now, I forgot !)
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

By the way, that old fart didn't follow our rule of engagement. I would have waited till you were low altitude air born, then sneak up behing you and yell at the top of my lungs, :HEY YOU, then watched the results. Again us old farts have a license to do that sort of thing. I keep mine right next to my CCW permit.I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?
