.......! Coulda swore he said he was Larry, and I did not ask
the last name, just assumed........... But it was for sure, not you.
He was telling me about you and your demo station, but never asked
him to point you and your area out. My loss!

Probably Larry Chapman then!!

He's the one that started ME on this FBL noe kick by putting the GMP legend head on his Bergen Tazer.

He flew that machine at IRCHA, during one of our times up at center stage.

Wasn't he in 'Dallas' ?

Seriously folks, I had no idea you could fly like that without a flybar and NO electronics!!

I think I'd be scared to try if I'm honest - your Tx sticks must be smoking at the end of each flight

WIll stick to my vBar 4's

Cheers

3D?? No - just another input error!!!

I think that's the point trying to be made here. I personally do NOT find it that difficult. Different? Yes! Most certainly. It takes a couple of flights to get used to it. But on the very FIRST flight, I said "OH, that's not so bad!!"

It may not be for everyone, and it may not be for every helicopter, but if it DOES work for you on your helicopter, it's pretty damn fun!!

To do this you still need a t/r gyro, right?

Yes

And you should be able to comfortably fly a 600 sized heli and up with out a gyro system assisting on the cyclic. Its just a lot more locked in with the gyros.

You can get a good idea of how off your CG is by flying with no gyros.

Squirrely
Flying without a stab unit does work....but it's just SQUIRRELY...absolutely nothing precise about flying Flybarless without a stab unit

there is no "Locked in" feel like Carlo said...I would say it's like trying to balance a ball on your fingertip....there is no center...the heli is always in motion...

I find it more enjoyable to fly with help...so I gave up on the naked route..

Hi Jag72,

Did I see you have an xtreme 50 in another post? If so, do you have any thoughts re. the recommended first flight settings with a vBar 4?

P.S. Did you ever take the pics with the stock Trex 600 lid ?

Thanks.

X50
Yep...I have an RJX 50...used to run vbar in it..

I would recommend the Trex 600 file to start with...that'll get you VERY close ...

are you looking for pics of the RJX with a trex 600 lid?

I tried it ..but it didn't look quite right...I can't remember if I took pics though..

shoot me a pm if you need something specific though...

There are lots of pics in my gallery if you want to peek at them

Cool - Many Thanks.

Any pics of the X50 with different lids would be good - I'll have a look through your gallery.

Shame there's not more options from RJX or the likes of Fusuno But that's another forum

FBLS not needed

Watch at YouTube

So is it worth spending $$$? Not for me,
I don't do competition flying or 3D, I fly for the fun of it

also check this thread as many others are flying without FBLS

Unless your trying to sell a system why try and convince people that it is necessary to have?

OK now this is getting annoying using words . No it is not needed ,yes you can fly without ,if you like it fly it but quit trying to reuse words to get people to agree . Yes I have tried it but I dont like it, yes you fly scale I can too but dont want to .It is what it is I dont think anyone on my side is saying you cant but you seem to think you are changing minds .I know I use you and my side (FBL) but you use words how you want so figure it out.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Unless you've actually flown a well setup FBL system, you would not understand. I've flown both ways, and I can guarantee anyone that has at least tried a well setup system, would NEVER consider going without one, period.

I'm convinced. It has to be in the naked FBL set-up.
I must have been very lucky and it flies very much to my liking/loving. Nothing squirrely about my heli.
Flying without a stab unit does work....but it's just SQUIRRELY...absolutely nothing precise about flying Flybarless without a stab unit
You must be flying the wrong POS naked FBL helicopter my friend.
The only squirrely things I get are those furry little animals called squirrels running across the field.

The next time you go out to fly, try these things: (and bring a camera )

(1) FFF into the wind.
(2) A full loop
(3) 4 point barrel rolls
(4) Fast backwards flying

Then if you ever come to FL. I will let you fly my Logo with stabilization, then you will be able to tell the difference.......Ron
