From vibe 50 to another electric advice please.
Hi guys,

I am totaly tired of nitro engine! Cannot tune it anymore, clean it and everything. But I am use to fly a real stable, agressive and agile machine, Vibe 50. Is there a real good electric heli that could give the same? Does Align the best? I've hear Compass make realy good heli.

The only think I know from electric heli is under 500 class, electric is cheaper to fly, and above 600, electric is more expensive. But if I consider I allready have all my servos, gyro etc, I could save money.

Thank you for your advices.

This is a biased recomendation because I own one: Logo 6003D. This heli fits your requirments easily, but add ultra smooth flight characteristics on top of what you are looking for.
It flys best on 10S lipos, not the cheapest but there are some good cheaper lipo options to be had at the moment.(Turnigy)

Logo 600's are not the only good performing 50 class electric, but in the long run you wouldn't regret getting a Logo.

I love my 500 class heli. Have 696 flights in 18 months on my 500. I have another that I wanted to put in a fuse but changed my mind, it for sell really cheap go see here:
http://www.runryder.com/t541302p1/
This way it would not cost a lot to see if you like this size heli.

If you want the same size heli (that use 600 to 620mm blades) but with better power to weight ratio then your Vibe 50 in electric, go for the Century Swift 620SE on 8S/3700 packs with the double maingear option. And with far better power to weight, then either, go with the 10S configuraton - yeehaww!!!

If you want about the same performance but using 550mm blades go with their Swift 550SE on 6S packs....or even the 620SE on 6S and 550mm blades.

logo 500
I think the logo 500 is a perfect place for most people to start off with electrics...good stability and yet very agile...cheaper to fly and maintain than most might think also.....using a single 6s pack is convenient and 550mm blades are cheap to buy...

If you are expecting the stability of your Vibe 50 then you will not be happy with any 500 size electric heli. Larger is always more stable, and there is more then a noticable different between 500 and 600.

Much as the Logo 600 and other 600 size heli's on 8S - 12S power are fun to fly, sounds like you are looking for something economic as well. I would seriously looking into the new Logo 500SE. It's a 600 size machine, but slightly smaller and lighter airframe and most importantly flies great on cheaper 6S 5000mah packs.

Flight time can be 6-8 minutes depending on the setup and light 3D/sport flying. The number one thing to increase flight time is less headspeed.

I'm getting 7:30 to 8 minutes on a Logo 500. Used to just cruise around with a 13 tooth pinion for 9 minutes! I run a Tango 45-10 with a Jazz55-10 esc. Hyperion 6s 5000mah batteriesAMA #99382

Anthony... if he goes that route, won't he need something like a Scorpian 4025 motor to spin a 600mm blade well and like he is used to on his Vibe... and thus be looking at a 4.5 minute flight or so on a 6S 5000mah batt?

Have been looking at the 500SE allot lately (it really is a Nice heli!)

logo 500 "SE"
The logo 500 "SE" is NOTHING more than a logo 500 with a longer boom and belt ...it's a logo 500 running 600mm blades that's all.....I think it's kind of funny how people are getting all excited about a "NEW" version when it's nothing but a stretched logo 500...lol..

It's actually a BRILLIANT marketing plan by Mikado to release an "SE" version...this way you get to sell more kits and parts without actually having had to make anything new...just like the logo 400...nothing but a shrunken down logo 10...

Just as an FYI...I run 2 logo 500's right now(flybarless)

With 4025/1100kv's spinning about 2300rpms...I get about 4:40 of 3d flying with a 5000mah pack....

I would suspect (i'm guessing here)that if you ran 600mm blades and toned the headspeed down to around 2100-2200 you would still be at the 4 minute run time mark...that is if you fly hard ...

maybe 4 1/2 minutes....but you are beating the packs up pretty hard in the process as well...

I run my logo 500 vbar, with 550 blades,a scorpion 4020 1100 kv, 15 tooth pinion and a Jive 100 gov at 75%, and I am getting 5:30 flight time (sport tic tocs, loops, flips rolls, inverted circuits, etc), taking out about 3500-3700 mah depending on the flight.

The logo 500 vbar can be set up with similar stability to a 50 sized nitro. It has similar stability to my trex 600 vbar, and yet has more power at the same time. It is currently my best flying heli.
