At risk kids donation
Hi my mother passed a little wile back and she was a volunteered at the local high school with a class of at risk children if you dont know what that is it's kids that are on the wrong path and are either going to end up in jail or dead.
I'm going to donate a heli in my mothers name to the class to help them to focus on the good stuff in life.
I'm looking for aneyone willing to donate there used parts to help the build of the heli the hili that I'm donating is a caliber 30 nitro with a os 30 motor. I have a cheep gyro and a flight sim that I'm also donating.
I'm not going to put this heli togeather so they will have to do that with the teacher and me so any books ect. will help
thanks for your time and help

It may be hard to find anyone with Caliber 30 parts laying around. Best of luck.I told the doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to quit going to those places...

Way to go! The youth today is slowly going down hill. With cell phones, texting and video games kids are getting lazy.

Wish I was in a posisition to help you.

I have some parts which could be of use, but I'll require some sort of proof that this really is for a charitable cause.

All due respect of course, but threads like this have been abused for personal gain before, here and elsewhere. You'd surely generate more interest if you could dispel any question of impropriety.

Which high school is it? Who's their teacher? Have you maybe got a picture of the students all gathered together?

As you know I have a Caliber 30 with 550 NHP Carbon Razors and OS37.
I was going to throw it in the bin along with all my other old helis, but it was too big to fit..

Im not makeing any promises, but Il look into shipping costs. Im a student and shipping costs are expensive, its almost not worth it after you pay shipping from here to US.

E.G whats it going to cost to buy a cheap set of 550 CF`s compared to what it costs to ship some all the way over from here?, I doubt there would be much in it.

I dont what your useing in your Rex, but those hitecs I sent came out of my Caliber, I guess you will need a cheap radio and receiver and your nearly there.

I've dealt with cheepstr before and found him to be a stand-up guy
I think what he's doing is OK. I'll look around and see what I have and what I can send you!

Come on guys let's see if we can help these children/young adults and show them that not everyone is against them; also, there are some good people still out there.

Do not drop the ball...it would just cause the children to go farther down with there expectations of others toward them!

what we still need is some servos they dont need to be the best just need to be able to be fixed if broken
maybe some better blades it has some iffy wood blades
some setup tools I have some but they might need to keep some on hand when I'm not there.
the gyro that I have is off my old 450 and dont think it would be all that good for this heli.
any thing that could be useful for the heli and the kids
thanks guys

Have you tested that gyro thoroughly? Does it still work? New RC heli owners don't need a fabulous gyro to get started.op-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-thwop-t

Cheepster,
I am only responding to your post because you sent me an pm asking for donations.

I have a concern or question I want to ask you.

I mean no disrespect and if you want to help troubled kids, that is definatly your choice, and commendable actions too.
But before I would donate anything I did want to ask you a brief question.

My question is, are these kids who basically have committed crimes in their past and now someone is trying to help them by giving them love and toys? If so, Aren't they are being basically being rewarded for their past actions?

Or are these just very poor inner city kids who are not juvenile delinquents who have NOT commited crimes in the past? Basically, Do they have juvie records??

If they are kids who have just made a few wrong steps in their recent past, what kind of "wrong steps" were these? Just fighting with other kids, or fighting with their parents, teachers?
Or where these mis-steps a little more serious then that.

I was just wondering this when I first saw your post, and when you sent out the pm's I thought I would ask.

I would just personally want to know before I donated anything.
What others choose to donate or not donate is their business and I would never judge them for it, this is just something I wanted to know for me.

Thanks.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!
