How much colective pitch can i use?
[U]We were talking aboute how much colective pitch i could use on my 700n at my lokal field the other day, and I said I was going for 14+- or maybe 15+-. But the older guys said that I at mst could use 10. So i wonder how mush I can use. And another thing. Can I go over 2000rpm? I was thinking about around 2400 rpm. I have the Align 91. engine.

1920 should be your max rpm on the head. Your max power rpm is 15000 on the motor. Divide that by 8.2 ratio and you get 1829 rotor rpm. You can run the motor a bit higher then max power rpm (15745rpm) so that you BOG it into its max power rpm. DO NOT exceed 1950!!!!

You can pull 13 deg with the 700 but you cant use full cyclic with 13 deg pitch. You will bog the heli bad if you combine too much of the two together.Dave Williams

I have my idle up at 1900, and run about +/-12 on an HZ with SB18 pipe. Pulls like a Saturn 5 climbing outJim Senicka

Not sure. Cyclics are maxed without binding. Collective was maxed as well but not sure what that was. 13 deg I guess. I recently backed the collective off about 8% to about 11 deg though as I am trying a different flying style to smooth everything out more.Dave Williams

I kinda had the same question...was thinking of putting a 700 in a black shark fuse and running it as electric for less bog. and was trying to figure out how to get 14 or 15 degreesSrimok, Goblin 770, Avant Aurora, Trex 700 Suzi Hans, 700 LE, 700 FBL, Trex 450 Dominator X2, HC500, and a crap ton of parts with no time to fly! :)

For high speed F3C type flying anything more than 11-12 deg top end pitch is un-needed. Too much pitch will increase the rotor system drag and slow the machine down.

Yes, however if you are going to run a low scale like headspeed you will need more pitch. One way to go about doing that is to take away from negative. Your center would no longer be 0 deg but you can pull from negative and add to positive by adjusting your short pitch links at the top. The machine has 26 deg of total throw. +13 to -13. So you could make it +17 and -9 for example.
This is how some turbine models are set up but usually with less overall throw.Dave Williams

I have been running less pitch and more cyclic. I am at +-11 on collective and 10 on cyclic. It is working out good for me but it is how you want to fly. I am trying this to better manage my collective in stunts. It is helping. To each his own. LOLFly it like you stole it!

You should be able to get +- 13 pretty easily and a little more possibly depending on your cyclic throw.
