Stripping gears on vibe 90 3d
Hi Everyone

I posted this on the other forum as well, but I am having some serious issues stripping the bevel gear on my vibe 903D. Granted, I have done some hard stops, but I dont see how a 3D machine like this one would have this issue.

I am not sure if the gearing is perhaps too tight on the tail shaft, or if perhaps I have my gyro set too aggressively. That said, however, i am at 40 percent gain on a futaba 520 gyro with paramaters in f3C and NOT 3d mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other than this issue (this is the third set of bevel gears i am replacing), it's a great machine

Thanks for your help

Andy

Its hard to say without seeing it, but I would geuss that its something to do with the gear meshing.

Thanks for your message!
This done shed some light to my issue, but the other question I have for you is if the bevel gear and tail gear are identical to the vigor.

I'm surprised that no one else has had issues with this. The link you posted was from 2002 !

Thanks again

I think the bevel gear and the tail pinion gear are same as Vigor CS. I have not checked manuals, but I am pretty sure that they are the same.

I still fly Vibe90 3D. I did this to my tail pinion and I have never had any problem.

Thanks
Just out of curiousity, there was alot of advice on the link...what did you end up doing specifically to ensure that this did not happen to your machine. I heeded the advice about moving the assembly back a bit since mine was indeed pushed forward. I also tightened the bevel clamp first before tightening the gear to the main shaft. Do you think that this may be enough? Did you go through the process of drumming down the metal tail gear?

Thanks again for your help

I think the tail pinion gear location depends on each kit. I had two VigorCS before. One had perfect sit on the bevel gear and the tail pinion in another one was off backward about 1mm.

I don't have my heli with me now. I don't know how it is.

When you tighten the long bolt that I put a red circle, it pushes down the whole clamp. So, the way I do is that I set backlash with tightening this bolt(a piece of paper in between could help) and after I set, I tighen the rest bolts. Again...this is just my way.
