Please give som feedback on my R90 setup
First I apologize for my bad English

I would like you guys to give me some feedback on my future purchase.

I will use this model for 90% FAI/F3C flying, and 10% for light 3D.

It will start with a raptor 90 3D, and then I add some "uppgrades" to keep it more FAI oriented when it comes to head rpm and dampers..

Raptor 90 3D
JR DS8317 x3
Futaba GY520 Gyro
BLS251 Futaba Brushless Digital Tail
Futaba CIU-2 PC Interface for GY520
AR7100R 7 Channel DSM2 Heli Receiver With Built In Rev Max
YS 91 SR Long Stroke
Scott Gray REACTOR X Dual Output
Hatori SB 19 FH Muffler YS 91 Long Stroke

Then some uppgrades/mods for FAI/F3C.
Maingear 95 TT Nr = PV0188
Pinion 12 TT Nr.= PV0193
(15000 rpm on engine
15000/7.91 = 1896 rpm on head )
Black dampers pv0128

710mm Radix FAI Main Blades

Should I change anything? Any other good tips on what to get?

Thanks for the answer. I did alot of research.
One thing I wounder about. Is the stock plastic bladegrips ok to use with those heavy fai blades? Or should I upgrade to the SE metall grips?

They will be fine as long as you dont crank up your HS..I would say 1900 max. Besides, you want the plastic grips to keep everything smooth for FAI

I'm just a rookie, and really like your choices as they are similar to what I like in a 90 size sport flyer.

Did you consider getting a Freya?

Also why did you choose 710 blades instead of 690's?

Do you anticipate using a special paint scheme for visibility, or did you consider getting a full fuselage like a Staysee?

Yes, i looked at the freya. Nice machine, and alot use it for FAI type of flying. The reason I choosed raptor 90 is mainly for part availability here in Sweden, AND that the raptor can do both FAI and todays 3D flying. I only need to change dampers/blades and the gear ratio if I would like to train 3D.
I dont know how well freya will adapt to modern 3D flying. But I heard and read that the freya is a bit "slow" do 3D, but this is just what I heard. And the new F3C programs tend to lean more and more towards the aerobatic type of flying, so to have a agile modell is a plus in the future.
And I must say I like mccpm system, I dont know why, I just like the way it operates.

The 710 blades is for no speciall reason. I just whant to test them

I will use the same colorscheme as on my other birds. Its devided in 3 angeld horizontal lines. White/red/black.

I will not use a full fuselag. As I will change between FAI and 3D "mode" on this bird. And that would complicate that procedure alot.
