Rotortech 830mm, bushing problem Rotortech 830...bushing problemsAnyone buy a pair recently?
This is more of a rant 'cause I'm just not happy that I spent x amount of dollars on something and going from package to flight in ten minutes has become a "project". The 4 to 5mm adapter bushings that came with them just did not fit. I know they are supposed to be a tight fit, but damaging a bushing trying to draw it in using the blade bolt and nut to slowly pull it into the hole is BS! The end under the head of the bolt has mushroomed out a little even when using a washer under the head to get good distribution of the force since the head is the close to being the same size as the bushing. I even chamfered the end of the bushing so the sharp edges would not dig into the sides of the hole if they did get mis-aligned. There is a bulge now on the outside of the bushing barrel when it jammed halfway. At halfway into the hole I would think the alignment would have been okay at that point. (I did lubricate the outside of the bushing before trying.) So now it's going to take me a few weeks longer before trying them because of no spare time to spend on this. Thanks Rotortech!Has anyone else using them had a problem fitting the bushings? Coupled with the fact that one blade looks like crap because of a lousy paint job on the tip I'm just not too happy with Rotertech right now. |
