Stock 600 setup
I picked up a used 600 so I don't have any instructions. What should the headspeed be on a Stock 600 for Normal and Idle up? It seems to be lifting off of the ground too soon. I'm used to Nitro models with governors, Is there a way to setup a governor mode with the Align speed control?

Here is a link to the instruction manuals for the heli and ESC.

http://www.align.com.tw/html/en/c_rindexe.htm

You can setup gov mode on the ESC but some have found it to have issues. I don't use it myself. If it is lifting off the ground too soon you probably need to check and adjust your pitch curve(s).
even not doing anything would have been better than nothing...

Thanks for the link. I'm going to work on my throttle curves. I'm used to just having a straight curve since the Governor kicks in and takes care of everything. Do you think you can post your curves?

Also the helicopter isn't as stock as I thought it was. The pinion is 11 tooth helical, and the Motor is a BL600XL. Do you know if this is correct for a 6S setup?

Throttle curves:
N --> 0-50-75-85-100
Idle1 --> 90-90-90-90-90
Idle2 --> 100-100-100-100-100

Pitch curves:
N --> 25-37.5-50-75-100
Idle1 --> 0-25-50-75-100
Idle2 --> 0-25-50-75-100

With electric you do not need to run a gov. Highest efficiency for brushless motors occurs around 100% output. They were designed to run this way. Some people do run in gov mode on the ESC but I've heard this is not ideal with the Align ESC. Don't know for sure because I have never used it.

As far as pinion goes my kit came with 14T & 15T pinions. I am using the 14T. It was a good compromise between head speed and flight time. Probably the 11T pinion is giving a slower head speed than say a 14T or 15T pinion. To know for sure you would have to measure the HS in flight. I use the 600L motor but the HS really depends on the gear ratio of your main gear : pinion. I'm not sure if all the diff 600 kit main gears were the same or not.

EDIT: I meant to say I use the 650L motor.

yes, check ur pitch mechanical setup.. 0 degress at mid stick and equal but opposite pitch top and bottom. lift occurs around 4degress and for a 10 degrees config, that's around 3/4 stick upright or 1/4 stick inverted hovering (at idle up)..
