Help needed pls
I have a Raptor 30v2 with a problem I can't fix. When turning left or right it has a nasty jerking motion left and right as well as nodding up and down. I have checked everything but am obviously missing something. It was flying perfectly the first few tanks. Any ideas?

Thanks

Start by checking your controls on the ground and make sure nothing is binding.Andy

Dunno wheather this is any help to you or not but is the nasty jerking motion left and right mabey the gyro gain up too high? As for the nodding it only ever happened me once years and years ago on a schulter junior 50 and it was because i had the main blade bolts far too tight and the blades couldnt lead and lag so the heli nodded up and down. Its hard to fix a heli when i cant see it so these are only my suggestions from experiance i have had.If it doesnt move and its meant too... use WD 40. If it moves and its not meant too...use duct tape!

I would agree with Barracuda on doing a ground pre check to make sure everything is smooth in the tail rod first.
(Loops all aligned, smooth operation when tried by hand off the servo)

Next on the forward/back motion, In the Raptors this is often due to low head speed, the helicopter will want to do this "Donkey" move where the nose dips then the tail dips. If this is the case turn up the head speed in the throttle curve by adding 5 points at a time to the mid point number on the throttle curve. This will slowly bring up the head speed and eliminate the nose/tail diving action.

Now if you have disconnected tail rod at servo, confirmed there is no binding/resistance, I would turn my attention Bearings as Ben-T-Spindle mentioned.
If bearings (or helo) is new (as in out of the box, not used) you can eliminate that, Next address the blade tension on both the Mains and tails...

If not what Gyro and gain in Heading Hold are you running (percentage) as Raptor Pilot asked? You could have the gain level too high and this will cause that "stiff wag" resistance of the gyro fighting you on tail corrections...

So turn up your blade speed, check for any resistance by sliding tail rod by hand off the servo, check blade tension and let us know what Gyro and gain your running...

Your on the right site to get the best help out there!

The fact is you could have any number of problems or combination of problems, I'd suggest finding some experienced help, even if you have to invest an hour or so drive and a day at another field.Andy
