Webra Carb Issue Somebody please help!! I have a used Hirobo Lama with a Webra 35 engine. I had to rebuild alot of the helicopter. Nothing locktited along with a long list of things that were clearly neglected not just from it sitting like I was told. Wasnt born yesterday and this was left somewhere very hot and not maintained at all. I put a new gas tank in it and all new fuel lines along with replacing every screw and many other things. Went out today would not fire. Thought it was the filter so took that out. Fuel was going through the lines but the carb would not suck the fuel. Took the needle valve out and flushed it with fuel etc. Still did not fire. Took out the plug witch is new and it was bone dry. Then put fuel directly into the carb and it fired and ran untill the fuel in the carb was gone. For some reason fuel is not going into the carb. The engine ran before I changed everything but the only thing I did to the engine was to tighten the bolt for the carb barrel, thats all. The other strange thing was I put 15 percent cool power fuel in it and when I pumped the fuel out it was no longer green but a little browm like it picked up residue in the tank muffler. I threw the fuel away after that. It was not green at all. I was told this engine had a gallon or two run in it but if thats oil from the muffler there is no way this engine is new!!!
I have engines with 30 gallons of fuel in them and you cant get that kind of residue if you wanted to. Any ideas, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

That Motor ran fine before you started fu#$ing around with it That Motor ran fine before you started fu#$ing around with it. I was at the fun fly when you flew it. It started right off the bat. The heli flew fine, in fact when Doorman flew it looked damn good. I also know booth of the man your calling lairs. They know more about RC Heliâs than your ever going to learn and they have sterling reputations. That Lama isnât one of your Raptor hanger queens. Its seen some flight time and has been stored for some time. Facts that you where made well aware of before you bought it. Just because you cant get the Heli started doesnât mean you where sold a bill of goods. I hope Iâm around the next time you encounter the guys that sold it to you. |

issue First of all the motor did not start right away, its on video. Second of all I said it was running. And in your position you dont know anything about reputaion or flying, maybe smoking! You have no experiance in this hobby but two years being very close, some say to close to someone else, not my words but from others. And if reputation is not locktiting bolts and gluing things togather with C/A then I guess i dont. This machine as I took it apart was in poor condidtion. Nothing with locktite, broken parts etc. Anyone who builds uses locktite. I was told by this persons friend nothing was locktited and he said quote, (SO WHAT ). Will you say so what if someone gets put in the hospital because of bad equitment?Or some small child? As well as so what to the other issues. I guess once someone gets there money all of a sudden they change the story to everything was great. I knew there were some small issues but not a huge list. You live and learn about used stuff. Well I have photos and what they think is great is a safty issue. Parts that could fly off are not a good idea but your your more concerned with reputation than safty I guess. As well in this conversation nothing about wow what could it be? Only everything else. After the conversation with someone he ran off like he was saying im going to go tell because 10 minutes later I got this last message from you!! |

It didnât start on the first turn because the flow igniter was bad. They swapeed it out and it fired right up. 2nd I have 3 years of experience with Helis and another 5-6 with planks. But even at that I didnât have to call someone to figure out how to setup my ccpm.3rd âvery close, some say to close to someone elseâ Their called friends Bob with your personality youâve probely never had any.4th âI guess once someone gets there money all of a sudden they change the story to everything was greatâ Well thatâs not true, I was within earshot when mentioned something about the heli to doorman and he offered to give you back your money. Youâre an a$$ Bob , knew it from the minute I meet you. And Iâll tell you something else Iâm not some faceless guy halfway across the country were going to run into each other again. When we do I hope that leg of yours is all healed up. |

Train Wreck....... After reading this post a couple of times, I thought it nessesary to put a few facts up to clear the air....
First, I am not a liar.... will not be called one by ANYONE.... never have been and don't intend to start now.... Bob insisted that he wanted this heli.... even though someone else in our group wanted it.... Bob said that if I bring it to Rochester and get it running and let him see it flying that he would take it... Please keep in mind that this was not one of my heli's, but I was selling it for a GOOD friend (at no charge!!!)....I explained TO BOB, that this heli had been hanging in a hobby shop for about 3-4 years, and I had been the last one to fly it... but he wanted to see it... so I carry it to Rochester.... I took the time, during the event, to do a swap out of a Spectrum rx to Bob's Futaba rx... set up an entire program from scratch in a radio that I know little about.... and then get ready to test fly it...BOB began putting fuel in and found a leak... narrowed it down to a split fuel line on the fuel valve... fixed that and we were able to fuel it up....turned the engine over to bring up some fuel... tried it a couple of times and it would not start (as BOB said it is on video!!!) Took another igniter and it started quickly, but I had to bring the idle up on the new radio set up for the idle... (hope that is on video too BOB)... everything running and checked, I put the heli into a hover... (again this is a new set up in the radio) and there was a bit of a shake... so I changed the throttle curve, lowered the hs a bit and took off and began flying figure 8's in the small area we were using.... all was fine... I did a little trimming and then gave it to BOB....he put it into a short hover, sat it down and shut it off.... he liked what he saw... so he paid me for the heli.... and took it home that evening.... Next day, BOB comes back out and tells me that he began to take the heli apart and that he didn't feel it was worth the money he had paid for it... and without hesitation, I told BOB to bring it back and that I would give him a full refund, no questions asked and no hard feelings... and he said no... he wanted to keep it, but it was going to need some work... Again, a bit later BOB mentioned that something was wrong and that it was not in that good of a condition and I AGAIN told him to bring it back and I would give him the money back... no again.. he is going to keep it... all in all that day, I offered to take the heli back 3 times and 3 times he refused... must have seen something that he liked about it....and he was going to change servos and gyro along with some parts that were broken and ca'd (plastic side covers that you could clearly see at time of purchase) Fast forward to 3 weeks later (today)....and I see this post...asking for help because the engine will not run, and all of the other BS that is listed about the condition of the heli and it's build and no loctite... bla bla bla....and that I lied about the condition and the amount of time on it and the engine has to have more then 2 gal's of fuel thru it.... IT WAS A USED HELI, and the info that I gave was the info that I had... nothing more, nothing less... and then I see this load posted.... I know the original builder owner of this unit... his word is worth its weight in gold, as far as I concerned, and if he said the engine was very low time, then I would believe him without any doubt at all....and when I ran the engine for the demo flight it still had the original Webra plug in it and it still worked just fine...so I don't really believe that it had much time on it at all... but BOB thinks that he sees something different and that is up to him.... but to come on line and attempt to slander someone because he is upset over a purchase and the changes that he needed to do to bring the heli up to "his" standard, because he doesn't know how to unplug a nitro carb, just blows me away..... I wish you all the best in the future and with whatever and whomever you fly and deal with... but count me out.... I play above board, always have and always will..reddragon, yes you were 100% correct in there being more to the story, but I have said more then I wanted to already, but had to since I will not tolerate BS of this sort from anyone.... My RANT is now over, and I am getting ready to go flying in the morning.... and MY ENGINES and MOTORS ALL RUN!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Reply This is not the entire story and you know it.
First its in great shape and then the story changes again. You did not want to hear anything because Ron is you friend. So it does not matter to you what the heli was like! Pictures and video dont lie. This guy let this machine go to hell and was not flown a couple of times. Tailcase cracked, engine, tons. I did not send it back because a deal was made and i dont change deals I keep them. I was looking for someone who might know the engine, you made it personal and listed names not me. So dont act all high and mighty and that you and Ron are perfect and im wrong. Ever think there may be shared blame or does that not exist with you? You made it personal, not me. |

You owe Stan an apology. Stan is one of the most honest and stand up guys that I have ever met in this hobby. His reputation stands strong.Stan offered to give you your money back 3 times and you declined. What more did you want? What did you hope to accomplish by making this post? To tarnish Stan's reputation??? That wont happen. To embarrass Stan? You may have done that. You have also embarrassed me as well as the entire Rochester heli group.Stan, I apologize for Bob's classless tactics. I wish that I had known before hand that this deal was taking place... |
