A Little Side Project
TT MD530.

sgfromny, The co-star of many Scale Jet videos seen world wide thanks to the internet Al Gore created, No not "The End" shorts, the Mellon Head guy, picked up one of these TT fuses for his R-50. I have the R-50 with the Century 5 blade head and had always wanted to install a 500 series fuse on this model. I liked his so much I had to pick one up myself.

Note the cool work stand.

Skyraider,

I am turning 515mm Rotor Techs. They work pretty well with the 1500 head speed I fly. I was out today in 5 to 15 winds and it is a hand full with the stronger gust but not too bad. I do have to fly the heli all the time but pretty stable with no gyros on the head at all.

fla heli boy,

"The Duke" fuse met its demise some time ago. I have it flying as a boom and pod with 5 main blades and the Vario 8 blade fenstron. It to does not use any gyros on the head. It fly's really well with the heavy OF blades. I will build another fuse at some point. The next step will be to convert to e-power.

Boyd,

This fuse took about 2 evenings to install. You may be correct, I am the multi tasking king, Note the T-Rex 600E "Black Shark" on the bench in the first set of pics. Helping a good friend with that one. Beer and a model, don't get much better than that, well sorta. Pretty much cut and paste. For 2 bills I could not pass it up. Here is a couple of shots in the air today.

Yes. I do however, use a Helitronix mixer to mix aileron and elevator to get the correct movement of the swash and to also adjust swash phasing. On nice days it flies very well. Yesterday was the most wind I had ever flown this multi in, 5 to 15. That coupled with being a touch tail heavy because of the fuse addition, I had to work a little harder than normal.

I have the OS Hyper 50 and using R-30 gearing. It has the Century head, all metal swash and follower. Pretty nice stuff and reasonable too.

Thanks Stan. Its moving along rather nicely. Plan to retract the gear today.
